Can we be 100% sure it's not just manipulated fotage made in some Hollywood studio somewhere on George Bushes Range aka The United States of AclassMorons?

You know, for the very reason that I believe it is sometimes misleading, or obfuscational, I corroborate with as many other sources as possible- other news shows, newspapers, internet articles, and even the almanac. Most the time they do not just flatly lie, as if they're Hitler's propaganda department, but they cherrypick, do all sorts of subconsciously misleading editing, cite weak sources and trump them up to be stronger than they are- or else they run a bunch of weak sources by our faces so quickly that we don't have time to suspect them. Everyone should have a healthy disrtrust of politicians, the media, and religious leaders. A HEALTHY DISTRUST- mind you. You can still get a lot of good, accurate news, so don't just completely write all media sources off. You gotta learn to filter and distill out what is BS. Studying the cognitive biases and logic and debate tactics really opens your eyes to how seemingly strong representations of the truth can be much weaker than the average person supposes.


  2. For the most part I believe it is real.  Local news is a different story.

  3. Yeah, I could swear I saw that stabbing victim from the local news the other night in an episode of CSI.  And he played a dead guy there too!  Boy, you know your acting career is over when...

  5. I think a person can get a fairly accurate assumption of the news, if they DO NOT believe everything that is broadcast.  The media likes to glam things up and the politicians want to cover things up.  The public needs to listen, but be wary of what they are hearing at the same time.
