  1. A few points:

[1] the big Bang theory is a scientific theory, therefore it is never "believed", only "accepted". Belief requires faith, but acceptance only requires evidence.

[2] the "creationist theory" is NOT a scientific theory. To be a scientific theory, it should make predictions, it should be testable, and it should be parsimonious. It is none of these.

[3] if by "creationist theory" you means a literal interpretation of the bible (or any other religious text), then there are indeed problems.

If, however, you mean that God (or an equivalent demiurge) created the universe, then there is no intrinsic conflict between the two, and there is absolutely no reason to choose between them; the Catholic Church, for example, accepts the Big Bang model precisely *because* it leaves room for a possible Creator to have "sparked" everything off.

  2. Big Bang Theory is more logical

  3. The Big Bang folks have the background radiation measurements of the COBE probe, which fit more perfectly with theoretical prediction than almost any physics experiment in history.

The creationist folks have a book containing many dubious claims, such as pi being equal to 3, and forty days and nights of rain being enough to cover the tallest mountain.

I'll take science every time.  For a humorous illustration of the background radiation result, see http://xkcd.com/54/

  4. Neither......

    It is was it is!

    Peace.

  5. Only a creationist would believe that there are two theories here - there is only one theory, the Big Bang. Your alternative is merely a literal interpretation of religious scripture. If you try make science out of scripture, all you end up with is pseudo-science.

Scientific theories never become scientific laws, and non-scientific creation myths never become scientific creation theories.

  6. The Big Bang theory. There is not really any scientific proof about the Creationist theory. However, it doesn't matter what we believe in, just so long we think we are right.

  7. Big bang

  8. Big Bang, but I still think it possible that a higher power/more advanced life form orchestrated the whole thing.  Much more impressive than "let there be light" in my opinion.

  9. I'm going to go with the Big Bang also, since it has several pieces of evidence that back it. Like the expansion of space and cosmic microwave radiation.

Creationism isn't even a scientific theory since it is unfalsifiable, makes no predictions, and cannot be used as a research model.

  10. The Big Bang Theory.

  11. I don't see that they are exclusive.  I know that God created the universe the way He said He did in Genesis.  He doesn't give the details of how He did it.  For the purpose of faith, that is immaterial.
