I know that you're suppost to brush your cats teeth but my cat is just not up for it even though i have the special tooth brush and meat flavour toothpaste. I have also tryed the special tooth cleaning biscuits but she doesn't chew them so they are not having any affect. She doesn't really get any sugary treats with the exeption to cat milk, so anyhow do you brush your cats teeth and if not are they still in good condition? I think what I will do ias ask the the vet to clean them when she goes to get her claws trimmed.

  1. its not cruel to brush your cats teeth, its very beneficial for them. Yes i brush my kittens teeth but i don't use the toothpaste. if your concerned then go and get the vet to do it, if you do it and she is fighting you all the way then your likely to end up doing damage instead of good.

  2. my cats won't let me do it for very long 15 seconds is the tops.  I had one of my cats in for a dental cleaning back in March.  probably next year I'll have my other cat in.

  3. no chance my cats would rip my arms to shreds

  4. You have to start when they are kittens otherwise you,ve no chance. Let the vet do it also dried food helps to clean them.

  5. No it would be like shredding myself .

  6. I don't exactly "brush" my cat's teeth, because that would be virtually impossible. I do use PetzLife gel on my cat's teeth. It requires simple application, not brushing. It certainly isn't "cruel" (morons). You may want to consider using that product yourself, because scaling is very expensive and involves anesthesia. Don't expect to see results from "teeth-cleaning" cat treats, or even from "cat toothpaste," because that probably won't happen.

  7. goodness me you give the vet the revenue they need to keep ripping people off!

1 you don't need to buy special dental brushes and toothpastes and get the vet to clean the cat's teeth unless there is obvious decay.

Cats do eat bones and raw chicken necks are the go as the bones rub against the teeth and thus clean them. dry food is good in a diet as they need the rough texture to help keep furballs down and also the teeth can be cleaned to a certain degree by dry food too.

2 now claws.... hmm vet doing claws doesn't need to be done unless the cat spacks out like something from a demon movie.

my new 4 month old does that and i get my partner to hold him by the back of the neck so he doesn't struggle.

you can buy cat clippers which usually have a drawing or gt the vet to show you but the rule i use is. look at the claw and unless the cat has black claws and you can't see thru it to see the pink cantre which is the bit that bleeds if you cut too far down. but the vet should talk you thru so you can do it yourself but if the vet doesn't he or she is just feeding off your money.

now worming i have had problems with.... my other cat would do this thing like in the exorcist movie and i would have more worm paste on me than in the cat. well the vet said this is how it's done hahaha few puncture wounds later and a pissed off cat with worm paste all over me and the vet this time we decided for the all round treatment on the back of the neck that does ear mites fleas and worms. Happy kitties

look it's not as hard as some think to look after cats. it's really if the owner is the fussy one.

  8. no chance my cats would rip my arms to shreds

  9. WHAT!! Dont brush your cats teeth, its cruel! I have a cat and i dont clean them at all. Its teeth are white and sharp, like a cats set of teeth should be. If you REALLY want to clean its teeth, buy it a dental stick for cats :)

  10. I know how difficult it is to clean a cat's teeth, believe me, I tried more times than I care to remember. Even on the most tame and mild-tempered cat it's often a nightmare. The cat we've got now is too scared to have her teeth cleaned because she had a tough start in life. She has them done quickly by the vet every once in a while who knows what he's doing and can do it quicker than us.

The cat we used to have was extremely tolerant of taking medicine and stuff but hated having his teeth brushed. Coupled with that, the sound the toothbrush made on his teeth was hilarious so 1/2 the time we'd be laughing too much to clean them properly.

Anyway, cats' teeth are very durable. They only need the odd clean every now and again. I've found it best to let the vet do it. It's quicker so there's less discomfort for the cat.

  11. thats evil they do it themselves

  12. I've tried it once, but the cat has shred my fingers... XD

  13. If you brush your cats teeth then also you should wipe your cats rear after she had done.......

  14. Ha! I wouldn't risk my life for the sake of my cats teeth!

  15. Yes, I do and I floss them!

  16. No i wouldn't do this .

my cats teeth are all in good condition.

If your vet is saying t do this then i don't know about it.

As my vet told me don't do anything to their teeth.

  17. Even if I had a cat I wouldn't try something that crazy.  What did the cats of ten, twenty, or so years ago do?  Oh my, I bet they had bad breath and suffered depression from being ridiculed.
