Let babies  and our own veterans die because of no health care but don't let the flag touch the ground by all means!

No. You just pick it back up, clean it off and put it back up. When a flag becomes worn beyond use and honor. It is honorably burnt.

if the flag, or any patriotic symbol for that matter, falls on the ground and is damaged it should be burned. as another person said, local groups will do this for free. any ripped or dirty flag should be burned. if you accidentally drop it but its find and not ripped, then don't worry about it. but if it is damaged, it should be burned.
