  1. No. You should, of course, try to avoid having the flag touch the ground. But if it does, you should correct the situation immediately. If the flag has been dirtied, you should clean it by hand with a mild soap solution and dry it well before returning it to use.

  2. Any time the national symbol touches the ground, it should be respectfully burned. Local veterans and patriotic groups will do this free of charge.

  3. In astronomy?

  4. Definitely.

In America we glorify and honor our "material" above everything, even ourselves and others.

Let babies  and our own veterans die because of no health care but don't let the flag touch the ground by all means!

We "pledge" allegiance to the flag before we do our "united states".

  5. No. You just pick it back up, clean it off and put it back up. When a flag becomes worn beyond use and honor. It is honorably burnt.

  6. if the flag, or any patriotic symbol for that matter, falls on the ground and is damaged it should be burned. as another person said, local groups will do this for free. any ripped or dirty flag should be burned. if you accidentally drop it but its find and not ripped, then don't worry about it. but if it is damaged, it should be burned.
