I go boating and tubing all the time and I feel like I always get tired after I'm done so I was just wondering if you actually burn calories. So if you know let me know and tell me how many calories roughly!

  1. You burn calories by breathing so you should burn by hanging out to the tube. The best way to tube is called dogging it where you hang off the back of the tube.

  2. you burn calories by just watching TV but to loss fat you need to raise your heart beat.

  3. I doubt that you lose enough calories to lose weight while tubing because obviously when you're tubing the only physical thing you're doing is holding on which isn't enough to become a workout.  But, if you're looking for a workout you can do behind a boat then try wakeboarding or waterskiing.

  4. You burn a fair amount by tubing because of the strength required to stay on the tube.

Boating...well, it kind of depends. Going out on the water and being in the sun is usually enough to cause fatigue. At the same time, it does burn more calories than just sitting at home doing nothing, because you have to adjust yourself to the changes of the boat. If you're on a sailboat, you have to adjust to the change in heel, powerboats require you to shift your weight to keep from sliding around.

I'm sorry, I have no idea just how many calories it would burn...

Make sure you are wearing a life jacket for all of these activities, particularly the tubing. 90% of drowning victims know how to swim. (I'm part of Team Coast Guard...it's all about the life jackets...)

  5. you would burn calories even if you were to lie in bed all day... so yes, you burn calories when you go boating and tubing because you burn calories all the time

the tiredness you feel probably comes from all the excitement, and from all the sun...
