I was going to go to a shop speak to a professional and get an idea of what i want. then i was going to search the Internet to find the clubs at a cheap price. if i do buy off the Internet i know a shipping charge is going to be added to my price. wont the shipping charge make the clubs cost just as much as buying from the store ? also what web site do you buy from ?

  1. I live overseas. We have no golf shops where one can go. I have been buying golf equipment via the internet through necessity for four years and have never had a bad experience. Due to international shipping restrictions, some firms will not ship overseas, even though APO addresses are considered US.

There are a dozen or so of us here who do the same thing, ordering gloves, balls, clubs, shoes and clothing via the internet. It comes within a week and I have never known of a shipping error among the entire group.

My preferred companies are TGW (The Golf Warehouse), Edwin Watts, Golfsmith and Golf Galaxy. TGW is the one from whom I order most frequently because their prices are excellent and stuff arrives in a matter of days. I have ordered two complete sets of irons, several putters & drivers and countless other things, all without a single mistake by them.

If I was still in the USA, I'd go with Golfsmith or Edwin Watts and buy it in the store, since returns are much easier if something isn't right. Returning mail order mistakes is a pain.

  2. try ebay or craigslist.

  3. Don't buy any set of clubs in the internet? Go to Golfgalaxy or Golfsmith talk to a pro, they have a free fitting if you decide to get a new sets. You can try as many iron sets and drivers if you want.

  4. That's a great approach! You can easily escape the shipping trap by doing a quick search for online coupons. Most Internet shops offer coupon codes for free or reduced shipping, or other promotions like 10% off, free items with purchase, that kind of thing.

Check RetailMeNot.com - [ http://retailmenot.com ] - they seem to be the best at having a variety of shops and codes that are current.

As for online pro shops, my favorite is Rock Bottom Golf [ http://rockbottomgolf.com ]. They don't have everything, but what they DO have is usually at the lowest prices around. They also are good about having LOTS of coupon codes - I know 10% off is Slick10Off, and free ground shipping is RMNRockHead if you spend $50 or more.

I would avoid eBay unless the seller has a great rating and DETAILED pictures of the item - too easy to get swindled otherwise. Craigslist is good, especially if you're in a large city or surrounding area, just remember to check everything out before handing over any money.

    Best of luck!

  5. Not necessarily. Some shops give 10% discount or free shipping for purchases over a certain amount

    This wbsite is one: www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=6...

    Just look around for ideas

  6. No. Why would anybody buy something that they never see. Or  feel it physically and for stupid golf clubs.

  7. I did buy a bike after I saw it  myself. so yes

  8. Golf clubs I imagine would cost alot for shipping because of the weight, Ebay is the main one I use. I would stay away from any sites I have never heard of theres not many places on the internet I would trust with my credit card details etc

  9. There was a news story here last year where a guy had bought a set of name brand clubs from ebay. When he got them they turned out to be fakes. As with anything if the price seems too good to be true, it probably isn't.

I have bought a single club a couple of times from Golfsmith and TGW online.

  10. AMAZON ONLINE SHOP
