  1. If you do not currently have insurance, I would talk to an agent or two before buying a car.  You will be REQUIRED to show proof of insurance if you are financing any part of the vehicle, but even if you are paying cash, I would have the insurance in hand before taking possession of the car.

If you already have insurance on a car, you are usually covered for up to 30 days, but it's best to notify your agent ASAP.

  2. You have to buy the car BEFORE you insure it.

But you have to insure the car before putting license plates on it.

  3. There is no absolutely answer for your question. However, explorer the information here will give you some ideas.HOpe it helps.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/ca...

  4. First you shop around the insurers to see who has the best price then after you bought the car you phone the insurer or you go online and get insured.

You'll be insured as soon as your CC payment goes through, that's about 15 mins.

If you want you can see this http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html take the quote, they'll come back with prices from different insurers in your area. It's very quick and free of charge.

But to find a cheap price you should get several quotes, do some legwork till something better will come along.

  5. Everywhere is different. If you live in SK Canada....

If you are not importing it, or buying out-of-province it's easy.

You buy the car. Drive over to the broker's on dealer plates OR on a $20 24-hour permit.

Take your bill of sale to the broker. This informations should include the date, price, buyer and seller info, vin #, vehicle make, and the year of the vehicle.

You buy plates. Sask is not privatized so everyone has the same basic insurance. You can opt into Tort coverage if you would like.

You can buy extra insurance (package policy) to lower your deductible, increase your liability and all sorts of extras you can choose.

    Good luck, enjoy your car.

  6. i would. that way you won't have to drive at all without insurance. just go ahead and get it first then go get your car. that way if you get stopped you won't get in trouble.

  7. Although it's true you can't get insurance if you don't own a car yet, it's best to talk to your independent agent and tell him you are looking at cars.  He will take all your personal information and keep it on file.

Once you find the car for you, get the VIN from the seller and call the agent with that information.  He will get your insurance started for you.  Stop by on the way to pick up the car, make your first payment, get your card.  Now you're all set.
