  1. I'm not convinced! I think Lilly M is exactly right.

  2. Global warming is a media fed mass hysteria orchestrated by a malevolent self-aggrandizing false prophet and his followers.  20 years from now we're all going to look back on this and just shake our heads and wonder how so many intelligent people could be so easily fooled.

  3. I'm not sure how man-made global warming is controlling.

It seems more money is made by NOT conserving, by NOT regulating energy related corporations, by continuing on the path that has led to man-made global warming.

    I'm afraid I don't understand the question

  4. You're right, there is a lot of hysteria.

Yes, the globe could be warming, BUT the Earth has both warming and cooling cycles.

And Yes:  It definitely is a scheme by some powerful and greedy interests to have more control over the rest of us, and raise the prices of everything...

  5. It's just for control.  If we wanted to reduce carbon, we would be demanding nuclear power.  But the environmentalist aren't doing this.

    Instead:

They want you to drive the "right" kind of car,

They want to control your home thermostat,

They want to tell you how much meat you can eat,

They want to prevent you from buying bottled water,

They want to control how many kids you have,

They want a say on how big of a home you buy,

They want their beliefs taught is every school,

They want to determine what lights you have.

If this isn't a power grab, I don't know what is.  The sad thing is that people think this control is justified and should be done as we have too much freedom now.  Scary!

  6. It may be both.  We do lots of polluting, politicians make us feel bad for even contributing a little.

I think it is mostly for more control.  What Al Gore has to gain from people buying hybrids (besides being hailed as the hero that in my opinion he's not) I don't know.  For that last comment 1st Amendment FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!!

  7. its partly true and partly hysteria.

when i was a kid it snowed a good amount in winter. now its snows not as much. and it was only about 10 years ago...

but yeah, it is control, too right about that. each year the media stirs up somthing new to keep the world scared and distracted from real issues, like healthcare, eductaion etc. last year it was terrorism. this year its global warming, iraq, and sometimes china.

i mean, fair enough, the worlds getting hotter, but the carbon emissions from volcanoes and stuff is a whole lot more than all of america and other parts of the world etc. so its not jsut humans faults.

its kidna hard to exaplin taht whole control bit, but i learned all about it when i did about newspaper and media cotnrol in my media studies course at school. people are told about how bad global warming is, so they can then feel good about themselves when they buy the newsest low energy fridge or somethng, when really all theyre alcatully doing is pouring more money into the big compaines who create those adverts about global warming etc.

the real issue is how much of our natural resources we have left..

  8. Control, power and money are the motivators.

    After all, it's UN funded.

Agenda driven science is the new weapon of choice for world domination(global socialism).

  9. It isn't good for the world, it is caused by carbon emissions from cars and industry, but I really do not think we'll all going to die from it and there are going to be cataclysmic storms and flooding.

  10. Today here is what we know:  many of mankind’s advancements cause earth surface to warm, destroy the ozone layer, kill off endanger species, heat cities, and in some way cause more destruction.  Blacktop (roads and parking lots), buildings, air pollution (causes lung and other diseases), deforestation, duststorms (which increase hurricanes and cyclones and cause lung diseases), fires (cause pollution, mud slides, and deforestation), refrigerants (like CFC's), solvents (including benzene destroy the ozone layer raising skin cancer rates) and plastics; cars, airplanes, ships and most electricity production (causes pollution including raised CO2 levels) are human problems we need to fix to keep life on earth sustainable! That is why I founded CoolingEarth.org, a geoengineering web sight. The federal government needs to adopt a pollution surcharge to balance the field and advance new technologies. We must pay the real price of oil (petrochemicals) including global warming, cleanup and for health effects. But with that we must understand we have never seen what is now happening before. CO2 has never lead to temperature change, but temperature change has led to increases in CO2. The models have to be made as we go along with little evidence! The result is:  change is on the way, we just do not know what changes. But again adding a small amount of CO2 to the atmosphere enlarges the earths sun collection causing warming; increase water in the atmosphere and they form clouds cooling earth but causing flooding. Even natural events are warming earth and causing destruction. The sun has an increased magnetic field causing increases in earthquakes (more destruction), volcanoes (wow, great destruction), and sun spots. Lighting produces ozone near the surface (raising air pollution levels). But humans have destroyed half of the wetlands, cut down nearly half of the rain forest, and advance on the earths grasslands while advancing desertification which increases duststorms. The USA Mayor's have taken a stand and I believe are on the right track, we can have control and can have economic growth. With the peak of oil in the 1970’s, the peak of ocean fishing in the 1980’s, humans must stop procrastinating and make real changes to keep earth sustainable including in the energy debate, finance and regulation. The sun is available to produce energy, bring light to buildings and makes most of human’s fresh water. Composting is the answer to desertification. New dams are the answer to fresh water storage, energy and cooling earth by evaporation, we need many small one all over (California needs 100 by 2012 and has not even started).

President Bush has made a choice of energy (ethanol) over food and feeding the starving people around the world, he will kill his billions; this is a choice China has rejected.

  11. I belive we have done our fair share of pollution.  Our heavy use of things that we use has damaged the ozone layer.  And now I can see the climate changes and sooner or later we will  have to drill into the ocean and destroy ocean life.

  12. This global warming is  perhaps caused by so many missions to space. All the fuels that spaceships throw off

on the environment. Leave the outside worlds to God..

  13. I feel there is a measurable increase in CO2 in the atmosphere, and like yeast in a vat of beer if the excrement of the process of living gets to high the species will perish.

At this point in time I don't feel that there is nearly enough CO2 in the atmosphere to kill off half the world population unless it's through war, famine, and disease.

The current push to reduce global warming is a ploy to make a market for financial, industrial and scientific interests to increase there share of the capital pie.

My position is to not so much worry about my personal carbon foot print but to invest in alternative energy and green mutual funds that are starting to form.  So get in on the ground floor and keep and eye out for when the bubble breaks.

  14. Have you got any idea what you are talking about? How is it a grab to get more control over everyone? What rubbish. I actually think that "they" had more control over you before because they made you buy all the garbage and big cars that that have led to the situation we are in now.

  15. Well, after travelling abroad for over many years this is certain. Man has contributed much to affect of our environment. Carbon and HCL pollution. Fossil fuel emissions and so on and so on. Now, do I think that a complete destruction of earth will result because of it. Let me consult with Bigfoot and I'll get back to you.

Ozone= two parts oxygen + one part atmosphere.. if you were to take all of the O3 particles in our atmosophere and compress them under low hydrogen temperatures you would have layer 1/8" thick. Is there an "Ozone layer"? Hey, Bigfoot...

  16. There is no doubt among thinking people that 'man made' warming is no more than as you said a power grab.   Gore, the UN, most of the EU, want to hobble the US economy, that is for sure
