  1. Do you think what we believe matters or makes any difference? If global warming is for real and the sea levels are going to rise then are the people who have control of the power going to do something about it? Like ensuring strategic places are safeguarded. They have already done a lot in building the Thames Barrier, to stop storm surges, but this has its limitations if the sea rises. I personally think its all to do with our use of fuel. Will there be enough for everyone? Cutting down makes it last longer. Making people believe, might make them use less. Hiking up the cost is also another.

  2. Nope I do not

  3. It is the totality of the evidence that has convinced the vast majority of experts that the planet is warming, surface temperature recordings, rises in sea level, retreating glaciers, shifting species domains.

The compendium of evidence from all these different sources means the overwhelming majority of scientists feel justified in warning society about this

  4. No. There's no reliable evidence of global warming.  Most locations that have official temperature gages have become more urban which naturally increases the local temperature, making a comparison over time meaningless.

Global temperatures naturally fluntuate over time, that doesn't mean it's global warming.  How can you prove that the movement of animals is due to global warming?

  5. While I agree that there are natural cycles in the planet, there is something special about this one: it has the potential to make our lives very difficult.

I used to think that it was "global warming" that was a problem. It is not. It is "climate change" that has the potential to wreck our day. Other than the obvious effects in the rising oceans (goodbye Florida) and loss of ice habitat for animals, we are seeing more intense hurricanes, tornadoes, and such. We are seeing disruptions in agriculture due to changing patterns of rain, causing droughts and floods in places where the weather used to be predictable enough to farm by.

To answer your question directly, Al Gore pointed out in his documentary that not a single scientist has questioned the validity of global warming/climate change. All the doubting articles have been raised by the press, and the genius of the Bush administration.

  6. No.

    I'm agnostic.

I prefer my Science to be able to make workable predictions based on unbiased data. So far "Man-made global warming" has failed miserably in its predictions. It's great strength is in its ability to transfer money.

Buying indulgences from the Catholic Church in the 1300's protected no one from the Plague. Buying carbon offsets will only make one poorer, and Al Gore wealthy.

  7. Global warming is real.  We ought to all believe it if we care about our children and grandchildren.

  8. Many feel that the unusual weather patterns are evidence of global warming—the so-called greenhouse effect run amok. Explains the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency: “The greenhouse effect is the rise in temperature that the Earth experiences because certain gases in the atmosphere (water vapor, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane, for example) trap energy from the sun. Without these gases, heat would escape back into space and Earth’s average temperature would be about 60°F [33°C] colder.”

Many charge, however, that man has unwittingly tampered with this natural process. Says an article in Earth Observatory, an on-line publication of the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration: “For decades human factories and cars have spewed billions of tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere . . . Many scientists fear that the increased concentrations of greenhouse gases have prevented additional thermal radiation from leaving the Earth. In essence, these gases are trapping excess heat in the Earth’s atmosphere in much the same way that a windshield traps solar energy that enters a car.”

Skeptics point out that only a small percentage of greenhouse gas emissions are man-made. However, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a research group that is sponsored by both the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations Environment Programme, reports: “There is new and stronger evidence that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities.”

Climatologist Pieter Tans of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says: “If I had to put a figure on it, I would say that it is 60 percent our fault . . . The remaining 40 percent is due to natural causes.”

ONCE before in human history, God saved the earth from ruin at the hands of men. He did so by means of a global flood in the days of Noah. What about today? Reason tells us that God must soon act to save the earth from man’s ruinous activities, and Bible prophecy confirms this. But what will he do? The Bible says that he will “bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” (Revelation 11:18; compare Matthew 24:3-14.) Just as a landlord ejects a destructive tenant, so God will “eject” those who ruin his beautiful creation, the earth.

The Bible states: “As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it.” (Proverbs 2:22) This coming divine action the Bible calls Armageddon. (Revelation 16:16) Jesus also called it “great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.” (Matthew 24:21) It will be even greater than the Flood.

Is this an extreme or unjust solution? No, God, as the Creator of the earth, has the right to decide who will inhabit it. He also has the right to hold man responsible for his actions. Moreover, if God permits man to continue his course unchecked, the earth will be ruined for everyone, and life will become impossible. On the other hand, by ‘bringing to ruin those ruining the earth,’ God preserves our earthly heritage for appreciative ones. The Bible promises: “For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it.”—Proverbs 2:21.

With God’s help, millions have found the strength to show themselves blameless because they want to be left over to enjoy God’s creation. They also follow God’s high moral standards and avoid violence and bloodguilt even indirectly. Hence, they are not ruiners of the earth in this important sense.

  9. I think that people like you won't believe that global warming is real until it's too late for anything to be done about it. All of the evidence indicates that it's absolutely caused by human activities. Sticking your head in the sand and saying it's natural, or just part of a cycle, is not helping.

  10. Look up these and have a hard think

Now would we be better to assume that climate change is natural and unavoidable or to say it may be us and try to avert it's worst effects

  11. its a huge government lie they trying to scam money out of us in a way we don't no off YET!

  12. I beleive in it.

  13. Yeah... maybe... but it means human species are rare and didn't create any polluting civilisation yet to help the process... That would be paradise... or not... I will buy into your point of view if you will make me forget about my influence on environment... Every plastic bag I throw into trash... Every kind of smoke I let into the air... Every chem I use in my life... Quite a lot you know... specially if to think globally and to check some things by my own eyes... You are right that world can change without us... but again... we shape it... by tools we create... We destroy.. we can fix... but the second don't come so easy... I think I will say that you should open your eyes or... stay on your way... Some people learn and accept reality... other try different choice... I guess... that more optimistic... and a bit careless... Maybe you are just tired of trying to be better... Well... I do... I am doing my little things but world seems to stay its way with aggressive economy and careless organisations with fake politicians on top (not every)... Yeah... Whatever I do I count only on myself first... so I don't demand anything from you except reading by chance and having your decision tested...

  14. NO!  In fact there is evidence that the earth is actually cooling right now.  Man does not exert that great a force in the atmospheric conditions of earth, other wise we could change the weather at will.  Natural conditions of earth and the solar system have given us fluctuations of temperature since the earth began.  Algore and his ilk have profited from the global warming scam, and other world powers like Russia are using it to weaken the US.

  15. The only reason you don't believe in global warming on your exterior is so you feel less guilty about polluting and driving that SUV of yours.

I can tell from your likeliness that you hardly know anything about science, and most likely struggled through your high school courses.

Global warming is real. You don't have to be a professional environmentalist to understand that. Our planet has an Ozone layer. That layer can be depleted by harmful chemicals. The only reason you do not believe in it is for your own personal satisfaction and quite possibly just to have that feeling of defying what a democrat stands for.

  16. ofcourse you cant **** with science
