Do you buy products and services based on advertisements, convenience, or the company's ethics?

I guess I should clarify that. Instead of saying "buy" I should have said "choose".

The company's ethics are important to me.  And sometimes I learn about things through ads that I otherwise wouldn't know about.

But the biggest criterion for me is cost vs. usefulness.
