Do you buy textbooks online?

I am in college and want to pay less for textbooks......is buying them online(half.com) cheaper...and if so..how many of them have you bought there?

Yes, you can usually find them cheaper, i never had a problem getting used textbooks online/

I buy every textbook I use from half.com and I save a bundle.  I've gotten some for 10-20% less than face value, but I've gotten others for 80% or more off face value.  It's a pretty good way to go.

Buying them on-line is cheaper if you actually need them, but 2/3 of the time you end up never even using the textbooks you're supposed to buy.  If you really want to save money don't bother buying the book; just make friends with someone in the class who bought the book and do homework/study with them.

i havent but most of my friends bought their books off amazon. apparently saves you a few of the old pennies :-P

I haven't shopped at half.com will look into it. My daughter has been very fortunate to find her textbooks on craigslist. She also has sold all of the ones she has finished with on craigslist as well. She now starts looking for books just as soon as she registers for class.
