Do you call, it soda, pop, coke, or something else?

Also where do you live?

In Milwaukee, Wisconsin we call it soda. In Cleveland, OH where I grew up we called it pop.

I call it soda. I live in Iowa. I actually used to call it pop. I think a good majority of the people here call it pop. But one day I wondered which was right. And soda just seems like the better choice.

When I worked in the cafe at Borders [years ago] we had a sign for "fountain soda" and people kept asking what it was.

Really? LOL.

I think that's when I switched to "soda".

Actually, I went to Marquette U. in Milwaukee, and they called it pop there.  I grew up in MD and it was called soda.  In Iowa, where I have some friends, everything is Coke (they actually say things like, "I want a root beer coke")

I'm from NY and I call it soda. I moved to GA and they call it coke.

mid west its mostly Soda-pop

in Ny and the east its alot of Soda

but here in CA or LosAngeles everything is Coke

we say coke than the person says "sorry we only have pepsi or Dr pepper or RC cola'" and we Californians respond "sure give me a coke"

in australia we call it soft drinks or fizzy drinks. pretty lame hey lol or we just call it is own name

In Canada, we call it what it is...coke, pepsi, ginger-ale, 7-up etc or to wrap them all together, we use the word "pop" as in "get me a can of pop" but that's only when you know that there is only one brand in the fridge or the person getting it, knows exactly what you drink.  I think the advertisers or t.v. people call them "colas" because the two biggest are Pepsi Cola and Coca Cola

we call it coke if it's a coca-cola, but in general we call it soda...i don't actually think i've ever heard anyone around here (western ma) call it pop :-)
