Obama's 143 Days of Senate Experience

by Cheri Jacobus

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much.

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working, not how many days he was in attendance.

So, after 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan!

143 days -- I keep leftovers in my freezer longer than that!

In contrast, John McCain's 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service, including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi, are more impressive than ever! At 71, John McCain may just be hitting his stride.

  1. i think i know who your voting for ;)

  2. This is another misleading email circulating the internet and written by a Republican strategist.  She seemed to be counting only 'days in session' when the Senate is not always in session.  The same way of counting days of work is not used for McCain.  Even so, her numbers do not add up.

While McCain has a longer Senate history, Obama has been a US Senator since 2005.

  3. compared to bush's disasters or mccain being taken POW then cheating on/leaving his wife for a "trophy wife" bimbo I do.

  4. Not enough time and look at what is happening in Chicago.  They really need a Senator to be a working one right at the moment.  He has Canada pissed off at us.  Yet the Arabs are hoping he is elected so he can renew his Islamic beliefs he was taught as a child.  He is not fit for Commander and Chief of America.  That would be like allowing my 21 year old son run my house.

  5. I agree with you 100%. I went on line to John Mccain on the issues and was impressed. I printed out 33 pages and then some, of information of his plat form and I was totally amazed. He has my vote now. I also went on barackobama .com/issues/ and you cannot compare the two.
