Yes, technically you can refer to pharmacists as Dr. Most pharmacists I've ever known in retail settings (like Walgreens, CVS, etc) prefer to be called Mr/Mrs simply because it's more personal and can help the patient feel more comfortable when communicating. There's even a phenomenon we call "white coat hypertension" when patients get nervous in the doctor's office and their blood pressure rises.

    If you're working in a pharmacy or around a pharmacist, you may ask what they prefer to be called. :)

  3. Although they are a pharmacist, they are still Doctors of Pharmacy.  So yes, they are doctors.  In some states (Florida I believe is one), they are able to even write prescriptions for patients.
