I call it soccer with friends, I barely call it football unless someone in my family does. Tough, same game but different name. Who cares, better than footie which is just plain q***r. And if im hated for calling it soccer then watever, get hit by a car. Not you Marco ;)

i call it both tbh soccer and futbol :D

to make things clear i call it half of the time soccer because when i say football people think i am talking about american football. and i call it futbol which is the same as football but just in spanish and that's cuz im spanish.

I call it football or calcio.  I hate when people call it footie which sounds really g*y.  I'd rather call it soccer than futbol but I agree with Shevchenko.  Both sports are called football.  In the end it really doesn't matter. I'm sick of people trying to tell other Americans or Australians what to call it. Soccer is another name for it. Deal with it.

Just becuz.. that was the acceptable way to say it here in america...

But now, ive grown so accustomed to "Football" and say it more often.. Even here to my fellow american Friends and ppl.

Yes, they do get that confused look as well.. but i dont mind anymore.

Also, as a Spanish speaker, i constantly call it "Futbol".. yes it sounds close. but i love saying/calling this beautiful sport that way as well..

I usually call it football, but if I'm talking to Americans I'll say soccer once, but then tell them that I like to say football as that is what the sport is really called and it is what most of the world calls it.
