Do you care if people dislike/hate you because of the team you're a fan of?

I mean honestly, do you?

I don't exactly care to the point that it affects my life, but I do care a little bit. I've had people say that they wished I would die just because I have on a Red Sox t-shirt or because I say I'm a Red Sox fan. I just think it's flat out pathetic.

How about you?

  1. Heck No, I love it when Giant fans throw hate on us, makes me even stronger in my team

  2. I never think anyone wished I would die. Since I'm not a Dodger, Giant, Yankee, or Red Sox fan, I don't have to deal with any really aggressive rivalries. But honestly, I don't care because I usually don't hang around those people. I'll just walk away

  3. I hope the teacher doesn't hold it against you, some yankee fans can be so petty.

I like it when people hate me for my allegiance.  That means the Yankees did something bad and the Red Sox won.  Usually then i just get a bunch of dirty lokks.  On the other hand, when I'm not bothering the haters it means the opposite and my boys lost.

  4. no, it's just sports. There are plenty of other things for me to worry about.

  5. I've honestly never met anyone who truly hates me just because I am a Yankees fan. But I know there are people like that out there, and it's sad. They need a life.

I'm more irritated by people automatically grouping me in with the bandwagon fans.

  6. Nope.

  7. Thankfully nobody has ever been that mean to me, but I care a little. I have many people who tease me about liking the Cards all the time, but I don't care about that. I would care a little if they were that mean though.

  8. Well im a yankees fan and the same thing happens to me. I still hope you live.

  9. I'm a Mets fan so I get it from Yankee fans all the time and I love it.

  10. I do care a little bit. But, honestly the people don't know people, so they're bascially just judging me because I like a certain team which isn't right. I kind of care, but no one has said any rude comments. Some people have made fun of me for being an A's fan, but I just ingore that. No one has (I think no one has) disliked me because I like a certain team. good question. here's a star.

  11. No, I don't.  I look at it this way.  Each of us are entitled to our own opinion.  Whatever team I support is my team and my business.  The other person can agree or disagree.  That's their choice.  Being competitive is supporting a team over another team.  Being ignorant is hating on a person because of the team they support, when they don't support a team at all.  RR

  12. It doesn't bother me much because people will always find a reason to dislike someone else. Some people just like to make things difficult for others. If someone says something to me I usually say something back and then ignore them if they retort back. I used to get into plenty of arguements with people for random things so I have been trying to ignore people, although it's hard when I come on here everyday and read some of the stuff people say.

  13. Not really.

If they hate me for loving the Orioles or the Rangers, they need to get a life, because neither of those teams really have any rivalries like BoSox/Yankees or Cubs/Cards...

On the other hand, have you ever tried wearing a maroon Redskins jersey in Texas?  Especially in the DFW area? Let me tell you, I was almost impressed by their foul language.

Just a heads up, it's not a good idea to walk the streets of Dallas in a Santana Moss or Clinton Portis jersey.

    =D

  14. Not at all. I've been disliked and argued with for many things...and they way I see...that means I believe in and/or stand up for something. Even if it's little things. While nobody is very violent towards a Reds fan, everybody gets dirty looks or snide comments because they like something different than somebody else.

Then again, after my halloween costume a few years back received all kinds of hateful comments and "i wish you'd die" remarks...I find it more amusing that people think and react that way more than anything. Just leaves me constantly disappointed, but reassured my opinions of them, in people. :)

  15. Not really, the people who throw the word hate around or wish death to someone are not true sports fans. Being from Ohio and an Indians & Browns fan, I get a lot of flack. As long as it's in good taste it doesn't bother me. You're right Greta, it is pathetic.

BTW...congrats to your Red Sox for getting Paul Byrd. He is a good pitcher.   =o`)

  16. not really, i can care less.....my team is not that good right now but i still go to the games and watch it on tv as much as i can

  17. Not really to be Honest , because people have their Opinions and are entitled to it and i could care less

  18. Nah, they can wish death on me if they want. It's a free country, let people speak about me, wish death upon me if they want. Rocco said he hopes I die a painful death. Well, that's his opinion and I respect that. So I don;'t really care what people think about me at all.

  19. You go back to school?I go back Sept.3 and yea I'm from NY and I love the Red Sox anyway GET MY E-MAIL I SENT YOU?

  20. i dont think the rangers have enough playoff history to have many people that really hate their fans. I have never had anyone say anything to me when i was wearing anything with a rangers logo on it.

they also dont have a real rivalry in close proximity like the sox/yankees do (not that they have a REAL rivalry anyway), so i dont think the hatred would be spread as much

  21. Well let's face facts..some people take being a fan of anything a little too far sometimes especially if it gets to the point of doing physical harm to someone else.  Europeans get far crazier when it comes to their soccer(football).  Do I personally care if people hate me for being a Cubs fan? h**l no!! People hate other people for all kinds of reasons including just being a male and white or Italian American.  I personally hate the White Sox the franchise but not the players per se or the fans. It is more just in good ole fashioned fun to argue with a Sox's fan about once franchise is better.

  22. I used to hate it when those d**n Dodger fans used to invade Candlestick and hate on the Giants and their fans.  Fortunately they usually would be leaving after getting a thumping.

  23. It doesn't bother the least bit & I don't dislike anybody for the team he or she roots for. I think it's pretty childish if I am wearing a Yankees jersey while I am walking & someone yells out of their car window, Yankees suck. I don't care what team you root for, it's your choice & just be a fan of whatever team you want, win or lose.

  24. nah they don't like my affiliation... CALL THE COPS cuz i jus don't give a ****

  25. My freind had the same problem in 5 th grade she had a red sock backpack and people would rite her mean notes and punch her backpack.

I presona;y like the red sox so u just need to ignore people like that

  26. Yeah, that's pathetic.

Until this year, most people just laughed at me when they found out I am a Rays fan.  Like in life, I only care about the opinions of people close to me.

PS -- I like the new pic.

  27. not really. Living in massachusetts and being a yankee fan i get hate every day, but i live with it.
