  1. My three year old watches the Saw movies... and no I don't think he will grow up to be a serial killer... My family has just always been into horror movies. He isn't scared of them. Every halloween we all watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I don't feel the need to shelter my son.

    Every family is different.

  2. I would never let my daughter who is 3 watch any of those movies and if she was older I would probably let her watch saw before I let her watch knocked up only because of the whole s*x thing and getting pregnant. my little brother is 14 and he has seen all of the saw movies so far but he hasn't seen knocked up. he prefers scary movies

  3. i would not let a 13 year old watch saw movies. even tho they might say it doesn't bother them it probably does. I think that stuff is even way too much for adults. I don't shelter my kids to the point they have no idea what the real world is like but I am not going to willingly expose them to nasty things like that either. They will see it all soon enough, I want them to stay young while they are kids.

  4. let me tell u he propably alraedy knows all of this frum school already all the conteent and i wuld let him c it if he wanted to

  5. my kids can watch anything except movies with naked scenes there 11 and 10 there favorite movies are scary movies my whole family loves those

  6. I do not.

They will be exposed soon enough to the seedy side of life without it being inseminated into them by Hollywood.

  7. I certainly do care about what movies my children watch - my oldest is 11 and I have 9 year old twins - they don't see anything other than G unless I have seen it and think it's okay for them - PG-13 and R movies are out of the question.

  8. Yes I absolutely do care. My children watch VERY limited amounts of TV- one hour or less per day. What they see is PBS kids or a DVD that we have. Children grow up WAY too fast and I want my 3 children to enjoy their childhood for as long as possible. They will see the reality of things soon enough, but for now, I am proud of the fact that my 10 year old still enjoys watching Arthur and Dragon Tales.

  9. Ehhh I guess my mother cares what movies I watch. I don't know, I mean we actually have very similar tastes, it's kind of fun. I will admit I have seen the Saw movies before..fourteen maybe and it was actually with my mom. I was bored, we were in the living room flipping through the TV, I think I was flipping through a magazine maybe and then up popped the movie. We sat through it all and we liked it a lot. To be honest, we sort of laughed at some of the parts, I don't know, maybe it's because we like the whole "dark humor", lol. I didn't get any nightmares or I wasn't scared at all. In fact, I forgot I even watched the movie until my mother brought it up.

For anyone who tries to say my mom is horrible for letting me watch any type of scary or horror movies, stop yourself right there. I may not be able to tell you what to do, but I won't take people talking negatively about my mom, because I know I have the best mom ever.

In her opinion, it was just a movie. If I was like nine, ten, eleven, maybe even twelve or thirteen (well I think I was thirteen) she would tell me to go in my room and just play in there or something, but she's discovered that I really have no fear when it comes to "scary movies" maybe it's because I don't take any of it too seriously and I know well enough that it's all fake. The movie or any movie like that has not made me to be a "violent" or "angry" person. It just made me a teenager who likes to sit in the couch or on my bed watching a bunch of DVD's with my mom.

We never saw Knocked Up but that's because we think the movie sounds really stupid and we have no interest in it. I think the first "scary" movie I watched was The Panic Room which I absolutely loved and I haven't seen in quite some time. But we like other movies like Titanic, Walk the Line, Moulin Rouge, Thirteen, Juno, Gladiators. She likes a lot of movies set back in like you know the 1500's and 1800's and stuff or she loves movies like Gladiators. As for me, I don't know, I like a lot of dramatic storylines and a lot of comedies. I'm someone who loves to laugh, like I love Scary Movie but I hate cheesy storylines, then it just makes me roll my eye's and turn the TV off.

So to answer your question, I think my mom does care what I watch. But what we watch together we usually talk about it. Or yell how stupid that character was on TV or something. I guess, we just talk about what we watch or whatever.

With scary stuff, she makes sure I don't take any of it seriously and stuff. Which I don't, I know that it's all unreal to try to entertain people.

As for stuff involving any "s*x", well we have come across stuff with s*x scenes and you know what my mom and I do? We laugh our butts off. We just can't help it. For a good twenty minutes or so you'll hear us just laugh. She doesn't have anything to worry about, because she actually had the s*x talk with me to make sure I understand and I do. Now I didn't go watching those kind of movies until like fourteen, but that's because we accidentally came across one on HBO, which we laughed at.

I'm fifteen and I still have movie nights with my mom and it's all in good fun. :)
