Question:

Do you carry a knife?

If you do, then the next question would be: Why? If the answer to this is 'for protection', then surely a stab proof vest would be more effective! So, what are the real reasons you carry a knife?

  1. No, that is illegal

  2. no

  3. I prefer a anti tank gun.

  4. No. A stab proof vest might be more effective but a nice slick knife is more lightweight so I think that's why people go for knife and not the vests.

  5. Of course not! Luckily, i dont have a reason to! Some people carry knives for 'protection' but you are more likely to be stabbed with your own knife.

  6. Nope.

  7. I would never carry a knife, to me the people that do are the ones causing the problems in the first place.

  8. No one carry a knife, but why  is this crime increasing?

In which  way can the people protect their selves?

It is wrong, but I understand  if someone trying to protect his life use to carry the knife with all the  risk, but the problem is: it is against the law and  in case  Police find a knife you'll get a lot of  problems!

It will be impossible to explain to  Police you are scared and you would like protect yourself!

  9. no,i don't.

it is not necessary, when you can carry a flamethrower

  10. no , although i am partial to carry hair spray if walking at night

  11. Well i prefer hand to hand combat but still then you can beat the guy up and have a excuse! he was robbing me XD

  12. no i don't and i hope the police catch those that do and lock them up for a long time in a prison that replicates the prisons in the 1800's. I'm sure when they come out they wont re-offend! unlike prisons of today.....holiday camps fr the naughty!

  13. of course i do not carry a knife around with me.

i can protect myself in other ways which are allot

less dangerous and for me and the person that will

try to harm me. carrying a knife around with you does not

    secure any safety..

  14. i prefer a machine gun

  15. A knife in the hands of an untrained and unatheletic person would be DANGEROUS as a mode of self protection.

I prefer carrying a small 9 shot .30 caliber handgun for self protection. It is HIGHLY suggested that one take the CLASSES and obtain a carry permit. Handguns in the possession of untrained people are dangerous as well.

  16. No l don't .

  17. I do. Its part of my Leatherman Wave. It's like a set of folding pliers too with 2 knives, some s***w drivers, a file and some other stuff I don't use that much.

I've been carrying it so long now, its like having an extra hand. I misplaced it once for about three days. I felt like a cat with no claws. It sucked. I use it to open boxes, cut food (after I clean it), cut wires or cable ties at work. I also use the pliers and s***w drivers in my job, at home, where ever its needed.

Never bring a knife to a gun fight. Weapons are useless in a defensive sense, at least during average day to day activity where you aren't guarding something. If an attacker comes at you on the street, you won't have time to pull a knife. Though, some people can get to a gun pretty fast.

Even if you do manage draw your knife, it's not going to be a pirate dual. The same skills that make the knife useful in close quarter's combat are just as effective without the knife unless you want to kill somebody. Maybe more so because you have two free hands and you don't have to kill anyone to eliminate the threat.

The best defense is a cool head and a clear sense of whats going on around you. Its always best to steer clear of trouble whenever you can. Fortunately, you can avoid just about every dangerous situation. The ones you can't avoid are statistically out of your control. A mall sniper is actually less likely than winning the lottery or getting hit by a lightning or a meteor strike and a knife wouldn't help you at all in that situation, unless you were going to use it for First Aide.

I forgot to mention that I put a Flint / Magnesium fire starting tool in my Leatherman belt pouch after I heard about the tragedy of James Kim.

You never know when you'll get lost in the woods because your GPS doesn't know the road is closed.

    Good luck.
