Mashed potatoes, yes I chew them. If I didn't, I'll choke! I chew them to coat them evenly with saliva to make them "gulpable". Anyway, I usually eat mashed potatoes with something else that needs to be chewed (mix 'em in my mouth) so it's a given. As for ice cream, they usually melt instantly in the mouth, so I just let them stay the for a little while before gulping down.

I'm eating ice cream now if its just like vanilla i like letting it melt in my mouth but the kind I'm eating now has chocolate chips so i have to chew lol

Generally no.  However, the ice cream in Turkey almost requires you to chew, as it has a taffy texture, even though it is cold and will melt.  Weird, but cool.

yes and yes. i dunno i chew everything even if it doesnt have to be. especially hard ice cream, i eat it with a fork and chew it.
