  1. I loved looking for fossils here in Central New York State, US.  There is a place called Chittenango Falls, where I went on a class trip.  We were looking for shells and the like, as part of our Earth Science class.  I found what was considered a whopper of a fossil...a trilobite.  I went from a C to an A in Earth Science, but my teacher made me write a paper on it, and then I had to present it to the class.  The actual fossil was sent to Cornell, but I never got it back, like they said I would.  Oh well, I did get an A!!!

The woods and fields near our house was packed with limestone fossils and arrowheads.  Arrowheads and other artifacts weren't that hard to find as Central New York was home to the 5 tribe nation of Native Americans in New York.

My gramma's acreage in Cazenovia was a burial sight, with mounds that we...all 29 of her grandchildren...were forbidden to touch...I always wondered what lay beneath the dirt...
