  1. Not big at all. Size is all relative to function. If you have the use for the space, then it is appropriate.

  2. most definitely to big .why do you need that much room?,

  3. This really depend upon where you live.  Here in San Diego, that would be huge, as the average is around 1700 ft.  In other parts of the country, such as Western Maryland, the average is 2500 ft.  A classic farmhouse may very well be 4000 ft.  Generally though, yes 3258 is pretty big, which is nice... except when it comes time to heat/cool it.

  4. yes....standard is about 2,200 sq for family .....mine is 5,000 sq ft and people think mine is huge!   its all how it is broken up inside and space is used...

  5. That's what they call a McMansion. I think anything more than about 2000 - 2500 square feet is overkill. My wife and I have a 1700 square foot 2BR/2.5BA home with a den. We live by ourselves and it's just fine.

If you have lots of kids - and therefore lots of bedrooms - there's no reason to have a house bigger than 2500 square feet. It will be expensive to heat and cool, and be difficult to clean and maintain compared to a smaller house.
