I know technically it is, but it really isnt at the same time.

Nobody in the FC roots for the New England teams. People root (properly) for the New York teams. I've lived here for 8 years, nobody roots for the Boston teams. Everyone else in CT, roots for the scum (AKA Boston teams), the FC is proper.

What do you think?

  1. technically it is, but in reality it isnt

Its heavily influenced by NYC, to the extent that alot of the people who live there are originally FROM new york. so no, they dont count. Just like how Jersey is divided into the NYC-influenced northern part and the Philly-influenced south, connecticut is divided into the half that is new england and the half that is part of the NYC area

The eastern end of long island, and upstate NY are more like new england than fairfeild. Montauk, LI is closer to Providence than it is to Brooklyn.

  2. I would consider it a suburb, or "Greater NY".

  3. Wow, you like the word scum.  I grew up in NYC and New Haven, CT.  I can tell you that as far as Boston vs. NY, it is equally divided in New Haven.

But since when did what team you root for or whether you're a "tourist scum" when you come to NY define whether you live in New England or not?

Connecticut is part of Southern New England; Fairfield County is part of Connecticut.  Seems simple enough.

Plus, don't these places look like New England:

    Brookfield, CT: http://www.gathered.com/brookfield/Brook...

Westport, CT: http://www.tvacres.com/images/jewelry_sa... (Yeah, they lived in Westport . . .)

  4. Get over it.  Root for who you want, but Fairfield is in Connecticut and thus is part of New England.  Be proud of it!
