Do you consider yourself a home owner even if you are paying a mortgage?

Yeh that's what I would have though, that you aren't really a homeowner til you have actually paid for it, before that the bank can take it away. I am technically a homeowner, but I am only 23 and it's through no effort of my own so I don't consider myself to be one.

    but yes u are consided a home owner.....u live in the home, u are the one that has made the contributions to paying for the home...more then anyone else....the home is in your name...as is the house insurance......

    But you do buy the home.  You borrow money and purchase a home with the cash you are given.

    It is the same with cars.   You borrow money, you buy a car, that car is yours.

    Both the home and car have liens on them, which limits what you can do, such as you can't sell until you repay the money.
