  1. I own a restaurant and it does well, yet I still consider myself middle class

  2. I'm working class. I work for a living, as do most middle-class people. Class isn't just about employment and socioeconomic status, its about culture, politics and normative values in society. Working class people can be well-off, and middle-class people can be struggling financially. Class is more of a process than a position.

  3. Before I retired I was middle, middle class.  Now I'm lower middle class.

  4. Honestly, I consider myself part of the Upper Class. Of course, I am not that old so there is still time for change.

My dad grew up in a Lower Class community, living in public housing units and attending a public school. His luck changed in high school when a teacher told him that she believed he could go far if he pushed himself and for the last 3 years of high school his GPA jumped from a "D" average to an "A" average. He received a Merrot Scholarship and basically had a free education at one of the Ivy's. By 26 years old he owned a bank and was earning millions of dollars per year.

I am fortunate enough to be this man's daughter, I have a $30 million trust fund that is increasing by $5 million each year until I am 25 years old and can accept my trust fund.

I suppose my family would be very well-off if my dad went into early retirement, but he is going to keep working until the day he dies and my brothers and I take over the company because he is donating most of the money he is earning to charity to help give those living on the streets a great oppurtunity such as the one he had when he was a teenager.

I consider myself wealthy, but I will end up working for a living regardless of anything.

    -Catherine

  5. I am working class.
