Do you consider yourself up to date on modern technical stuff? i.e. computers, electronics, etc...?

In other words...If you own a personal computer, can you fix it yourself, without a costly repair call from the local computer guru? Or do you own the latest Cell phone, or latest electronic gear?

well, yeah, i built my own PC, i chose the parts and put them together, it´s a Core2Duo based PC. I can fix somethings, though im not an expert...I consider myself a Geek. However i don´t have the latest gadgets cause i don´t have enough money to buy them...but im crazy for an iPod touch...

ahhh.. i think no one really is up to date with the "modern technical stuff"

technology changes everyday. Each day passes with new innovations, improvement, etc..

but to answer your question, yes I'm quite up to date w/ the modern technical stuff. i fix my own pc as I am an IT technician

anyway, as for the mobile phones - not really a big fan. I only need them for taking in calls. and my mobile phone is already 4-5 years old. very obsolete.

being a gadget connoisseur will just cause a nagging headache if you ask me. trying to keep up and wanting and having all the latest gadgets is not only heavy in the pockets but really doesn't help in making one efficient.

all these gadgets were made to "help" making life easier but imho, it only makes one run around like chickens w/ no head trying to keep up w/ everybody, checking emails every 5 seconds, capturing the best moment with the highest megapixel, getting where you're supposed to go because you have that handy electronic map and do you really want to listen to 10,000 songs?

and if one is unable to check their emails on that 5th second, passed on catching that funny moment or you can't download that song number 9000, or get lost in some dirt road then you get antsy.

that's why i personally steer clear of the gadget craze - I only buy what I really need, and not purchase the next hot thing just to show it off.
