  1. No I do not. My hair went through a very nice salt & pepper phase, now it's all silver. I'd love to have the interesting salt & pepper back, but no hairdresser can do it.

  2. Thinking about it. I was letting myself go grey but I find its become coarse and very brittle and snaps easily now.

The hairdresser reckons colour will soften it and  prevent that from happening. Cant work out whether she's having me on or not. Ive been going to her for a while now so maybe she is right.

Trouble is my hair grows so fast that within a week or two the roots are showing and I have to go back and get them done. It will cost a fortune just to keep it coloured.

What do I do. Fork out the money or look old and washed out. Oh dear decisions, decisions!!!!

  3. I've had my hair colored since I was 16 and I certainly do cover the gray!

  4. I don't have any gray hair, it's just a very light blonde that is coming up in streaks!  LOL  I'm not covering it yet because for the time being it's looking more like highlights.

  5. Used to, but have too much now so I am another of those seniors with gray hair and glasses. In large groups, we somehow all blend together like a giant organization of seniors.

  6. Dye looks so unnatural now. I'm a very distinct salt&pepper.

  7. No.I couldn't be doing with all that messing about. I just leave my 'ash blond' hair to go whatever colour it decides.

  8. occasionally, but i got lucky in the gray hair dept, and get lots of compliments so think i will leave it as is

  9. Yes about every 5-7 weeks. I have blotches, of silver popping out. Not a nice all over silver. And with Dark Brown hair...it is so nasty looking.

And my Motto: I don't mind getting old, I just don't want to look old.

  10. Nope.  Gray hair, white beard, even though I'm only 46.  I am not getting on the hair-dye treadmill.

  11. Nope!  Been there and hated the hassle.  About 20 years ago I colored for a couple of years. I just got tired of having to spend time with it, whether I did it myself or went to a beauty salon.

I cut my hair short and let it go gray.  Now it's a beautiful silver.

Yes, I think hair coloring can make you look less washed-out. But I don't worry about that.

  12. i colour my hair occasionally, nothing too harsh, just to give it a lift

  13. Yes, I do cover the grey.  The color is close to what was my own natural color when I was younger.  I keep thinking how it would look if I let it grow out.  Maybe one of these days.

  14. I don't have enough money to afford to be able to cover it all.I think my barber only brings out the black apron when he cuts my hair so I can how pretty the silver clippings look on the black apron.

I am glad I have as much hair as I do so I don't care what color it is.

  15. Yes I have been pretty lucky I am just getting around my ears I wear it short and I will touch up. Now my hubby went from blond to white in his 30s and every once in a while I will color light brown for him but mine is dark and I will color it in a shade lighter You have to remember a shade lighter so it don't look dyed Iam 55 and he is 56 a little longer. Have a great day.               Dottie

  16. Yes I do!

  17. No. Late 50's and it is starting now.  part of me!

  18. yes, all gray and now turning white.

  19. I bleach it all blonde and have no idea how much I have at this time

  20. Yeah--my gray was a bit yellow (I'm a redhead) and it wasn't all over so I have a few nice gold streaks now.  I love them!

I understand her hair has gone quite gold from grief--Oscar Wilde

  21. Oh yes I do.  I let it grow to gray after a masectomy and saw a picture...I thought who is that old lady.

  22. with what -- there is not enough black in texas to cover it all!!!

  23. I use to love to mess around with color, but when I retired I let it grow out.

Now I'm salt and pepper and kind of like it.

My daughter cuts my hair and with very little use of my right arm, I keep it just like my avatar but cut just under my ears.

    Easy to take care of.

    DeeJay.

  24. Nope, and I won't either. I love my gray. It's kind of streaky right now and I think it looks kind of "punk".....LOL

  25. No I am slow in getting grey hair. I used to color my hair when I was

young since I had uneven strawberry blonde highlights. I have frosted

it, and gone all blonde with ash tones. I have had redish highlights

among gold and brown, but subtle, nothing brash or hard looking.

So now I'm leaving it au natural and enjoying the fine strands of silver

that are coming in a little more all of the time. I was told that before I

got grey hair, my hair would darken. And it did. This was from a

salon worker many years ago. My mom also told me that after I'd

stopped coloring my hair, it would grow in darker than before. And it

did. So I have brunette hair now with fine strands of silver. And it doesn't look half bad.

  26. No.  It's not worth the trouble of touching-up every 6 weeks.

  27. Yup, I do. I color my hair.

  28. Yes. I let it go gray for about a year.  Then one day I saw a picture of myself and I went right back to dying it.  Once it's all gray or white I'll stop, but right now it's an unattractive salt and pepper.

  29. I made a choice not to dye my hair 30 years ago.  I saw many senior women at that time, who had dyed their hair all their lives, and it was now very, very thin.

I have white hair, and a lot of it, and I think that this is for the most part,  due to the fact that I have not dyed my hair for many years.  I LOVE white hair on a man OR a woman.

  30.    No. When my hair "turned" it turned a pretty silver so I have left it alone and will never dye it.

  31. I started to get very light, almost white blonde streaks in my hair very early and I hated them, for years I dyed my hair but it's very long and thick now so I let it alone. It's really light and I like it ok so I'm just leaving it alone to see what develops.
