  2. salam alaykum.

read the verses that speak about al aakhira about death and punishments. you'll defenitely cry. listen to the recitation of IMAM AHMED ALI AL-AJMI. I kinda don't like the tune but people LOVE it. and he reads with the pain in the heart that makes even a person who doesn't understant the Quraan cry. listen to the Taraweeh in Mecca. you'll cry listening to the Imams crying. i always prefer imam Saood Ash Shuraim. but most people like Abd Rahmaan Sudais.

if u still cant cry then force youself to cry cuz every drop of tear that falls off from your eye for the sake of Allah Allah loves them.

    tips to increase our emaan.

    1-remember Allah constantly.

2-pray all sunna and then try to go a step further and pray the nawafils  as well.

    3-read the quraan with translation.

4-stay in wadoo24*7 cuz shaytaan can't disturb you when you r in wadoo.

5-pray and ask Allah to help you increase your emaan.   noone can help you except Him.

    wa iyyakum brother.

  3. it can be many things..

    reading heart softeners.

knowledge about the Creator, i.e. His mercy, His anger, helps one to be sincere in faith, and love and fear Allah as He deserves.

learning about real stories of how people converted to islaam (recent, or prophet's time).

learning about the prophet's trials and sacrifices.

learning about the death of the prophet and how it was a trial for the companions.

learning about the suffering of the many Muslims around the globe today, and how blessed you are to not be one of them.

learning about importance of prayer, and every action that one takes within it, and the meanings of all that is being said, and done.

learning more about one's sins and fearing Allah and repenting to Him.

to increase in the remembrances of Allah by prayer, dhikr, or reflecting on the Qur'aan and Sunnah.

here is an excellent book that I love to read over again and again. mashallah http://abdurrahman.org/character/weeping...

  4. Poke yourself.

    Or listen to others cry.

  5. No. Fluctuating emotions are hardly an indication of mental stability.

  6. Try listening to this recitation I made by Sheikh Sudais:

  7. Yes!! it gives me strength like this one!!

  8. It shouldn't have much to do with the Quri.

Open the Quran and start with Surah Al Fatiha.

InshaAllah, your heart will open with Allahs will.

Don't just start crying on demand. Start your relationship with Allah.

    Allahu allum.

EDIT: When I personally even think of Sural Al Inshirah I begin to weep. Just open the Quran and your heart.

  9. No, i try to understand them

  10. yes, i listen to it and then comes a moment where i cry, and ask Allah for the forgiveness.... ~!

  11. thats between me and my Lord, i dont think its coz u have weak iman coz iv seen people who dont even pray, cry when listening to the recitation of the qur'an..Allah knows best

    try listening to

    muhammad luhaidan

    meshary rashid al efasy

    saad al ghamdi

    sheikh shuraim

  12. I don't realy cry right away, since I don't understand Arabic (only enough to pray and to have a conversation with my mother in law ;)) but what I do, is I try to absorb them. And reflect on them. Think about God. Think about all he has blessed you with. Think about things that bring you sorrow and how Allah can help alleviate them. Know that just the sound f the Qur'an playing in your home purifies it and protects it from evil. Reflect, and the tears will come. And if they don't come, then that's okay. Don't force them, because those will be false tears.

Just relflect, on your life, on Allah, on his miralces.... what reminds you of Him? For me....it's the gurgling laugh of a baby. The bright yellow of a dandelion. The pure white of fresh snow. The sound of rain beating down on the roof. And pray, and do it sincerely, after haivng reflected.

And if you don't cry, that's okay. What matters is that you made this time to seek closeness to God.

And soemtimes....sometimes you don't even realize you're crying. Some people, they listen with their eyes closed as they reflect, and when they open their eyes, tears are streaming down their face and they didn't even know.

I am sorry I don't really know what are really emotional recitations....for me it depends. I just hope this helped somewhat.

  13. I never cry but in specific verses I shiver...believe it or not! I don't really know why but this is not to do with Iman. I think this happens to me as I don't like to cry in front of others and this is a way of expressing my emotions. Something else that makes me shiver even more when I hear someone talking about imam Ali a.s.

    Bless:)

  14. No, but I cry when I watch romantic love movies!

  15. *Recite and ponder on the meanings of the Quran. Tranquility then descends and our hearts become soft. To get optimum benefit, remind yourself that Allah is speaking to you. People are described in different categories in the Quran; think of which one you find yourself in.

*Realize the greatness of Allah. Everything is under His control. There are signs in everything we see that points us to His greatness. Everything happens according to His permission. Allah keeps track and looks after everything, even a black ant on a black rock on a black moonless night.

*Make an effort to gain knowledge, for at least the basic things in daily life e.g. how to make wudu properly. Know the meanings behind Allah's names and attributes. People who have taqwa are those who have knowledge.

*Attend gatherings where Allah is remembered. In such gatherings we are surrounded by angels.

*We have to increase our good deeds. One good deed leads to another good deed. Allah will make the way easy for someone who gives charity and also make it easy for him or her to do good deeds. Good deeds must be done continuously, not in spurts.

*We must fear the miserable end to our lives; the remembrance of death is the destroyer of pleasures.

*Remember the different levels of akhirah, for instance when we are put in our graves, when we are judged, whether we will be in paradise or h**l.

*Make dua, realize that we need Allah. Be humble. Don't covet material things in this life.

*Our love for Subhana Wa Ta'Ala must be shown in actions. We must hope Allah will accept our prayers, and be in constant fear that we do wrong. At night before going to sleep, we must think about what good we did during that day.

*Realize the effects of sins and disobedience- one's imaan is increased with good deeds and our imaan is decreased by bad deeds. Everything that happens is because Allah wanted it. When calamity befalls us- it is also from Allah. It is a direct result of our disobedience to Allah

  16. that's alright brother .. if u can't cry that doesn't mean u have weak Iman !! ... i do sometimes and most of the time i can't cry !!  but i can't help it but to cry especially in the mosque in the last ten days of ramadan !!

  17. If these Suras don't move you to cry, then you must be pretty cruel:

Sura (23:5-6) - "..who abstain from s*x, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess..."   This verse allows the slave-owner to have s*x with his slaves.  See also Sura (70:29-30).

Sura (4:24) - "And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess."  Even s*x with married slaves is permissible.

Sura (24:32) - "And marry those among you who are single and those who are fit among your male slaves and your female slaves..."  Breeding slaves based on fitness.

Sura (2:178) - "O ye who believe! Retaliation is prescribed for you in the matter of the murdered; the freeman for the freeman, and the slave for the slave, and the female for the female."

Sura (2:191-193) - "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]...and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah."  There is a good case to be made that the overall context of these verses is defensive war, however, there are two worrisome pieces to this passage.  The first is that the killing of others is authorized in the event of "persecution."  The second is that fighting may persist until "religion is for Allah."

Sura (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."

Sura (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not."

Sura (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

Sura (3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority".  This speaks directly of killing Christians, since they believe in the Trinity (ie. what Muhammad incorrectly believed to be 'joining companions to Allah').

Sura (4:74) - "Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward."

Sura (4:76) - "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…"

Sura (4:89) - "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks."

Sura (4:95) - "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-"

Sura (4:11) - (Inheritance) "The male shall have the equal of the portion of two females" (see also Sura (4:176)).

Sura (2:282) - (Court testimony) "And call to witness, from among your men, two witnesses. And if two men be not found then a man and two women"

Sura (2:228) - "and the men are a degree above them [women]"

Sura (5:6) - "And if ye are unclean, purify yourselves. And if ye are sick or on a journey, or one of you cometh from the closet, or ye have had contact with women, and ye find not water, then go to clean, high ground and rub your faces and your hands with some of it"  Men are to rub dirt on their hands if there is no water to purify them following casual contact with a woman (such as shaking hands).

Sura (24:31) - Women are to lower their gaze around men, so they do not look them in the eye.

Sura (2:223) - "Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will..."  A man has dominion over his wives' bodies as he does his land.  This verse is overtly sexual.  There is some dispute as to whether it is referring to the practice of anal intercourse, which it has been used historically to justify.  If this is what Muhammad meant, however, then it would appear to contradict what he said in Muslim (8:3365).

Sura (4:3) - (Wife-to-husband ratio) "Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four"

Sura (53:27) - "Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names."  Angels are sublime beings, and would therefore be male.

Sura (4:34) - "Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them."

Sura (2:228) - "and the men are a degree above them"

Sura (33:59) - "Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them..."  Men determine how women dress.

Sura (2:223) - "Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will." Wives are to be sexually available to their husbands in all ways at all times.  They serve their husbands at his command.  This verse is believed to refer to anal s*x (see Bukhari 60:51), and was "revealed" when women complained to Muhammad about the practice.  The phrase "when and how you will" means that they lost their case.

Sura (66:5) - "Maybe, his Lord, if he divorce you, will give him in your place wives better than you, submissive, faithful, obedient, penitent, adorers, fasters, widows and virgins"  A disobedient wife can be replaced.

  18. I was brought up not to cry and I'm not Muslim, but last winter In Turkey I was deeply moved by the early morning call to prayer. There had been a heavy snowfall over night and the  normal sounds were blanketed. When the call to prayer started it was magical, eerie and it made me want to communicate with God. An experience I'll never forget.
