  18. i don't cry but i do put my hand to my mouth - its horrible to watch those majestic beasts fall at such a speed, i always want the camera to stay with those that have fallen to see if they get up again. The worst one i ever saw ( wish to god i'd never seen it! ) was about two years i think it , my partner loves horse racing and has a bet every saturday and i was watching as well when this horse jumped a hedge ( not grand national ) and its lower leg snapped OFF at the knuckle!!! The poor soul tried to land but had only three legs - i nearly threw up and watched the rest of the race with my mouth open - horrified. The only thing holding its lower leg on was its skin and thankfully a vet was on site to shoot it immediately - the look on that horses face will live with me too, awful! Although they say its the sport of kings i think its cruel, good question by the way.
