What made you think of liberals in the way that you do now? What major events have colored your opinions? What are the main reasons you dislike liberals? Do you dislike all of them? A certain segment? Have you ever met any nice ones? Or are liberals so different in ways of thinking that we can never take eachother seriously or be friends with conservatives?

  1.   Liberal didn't used to be a dirty word until the far left took over. It used to actually stand for something positive . Now I wouldn't go near it with a ten foot pole because it seems to stand for all that's wrong with this country. Freedom has been stretched to it's limits pouring over onto the original freedom this country was based on. You can only kiss so much butt at one time before you smother. It's time to participate in this country or accept it for what it is - stop crying, liberals - I'm up to my knees in your self pity.

  2. i think most liberals have a limited understanding of global capital, systemic oppression, and the minimal possibilities that reform offers. considering that though i have many friendly relations with them.

  3. I haven't always been a liberal but I've become very liberal now. I feel fortunate to know in my life some well-educated liberals and some well-educated conservatives. I know some in the middle too. I feel like the liberals have it right because they know what really matters in life. It comes down to priorities. I think too many conservatives are afraid and bitter. They seek perfection or so it seems and it just can't happen. We are all imperfect. I don't think conservatives really understand the psychology of people or the sociology. You can see both sides but because points of view are not wrong. How you see the world isn't wrong. That is your perspective but it's important to realize that not everyone sees the world the same way that you do. I can appreciate your point of view. I can probably understand it because I've been trying to my whole life. Politics has been discussed my entire life. I've been exposed to different ways of looking at things. I've been taught to think critically and I always try to think for myself. I'm not a follower just because. I have friends all over. It comes down to respect and consideration. I don't believe any person is absolutely right. There is a lot of gray there. Smart and intelligent people recognize this. You get into trouble or so I've noticed when you have some people blinded by their own beliefs that they are unable to even give someone else credit for their beliefs. I have this issue with my father in law. He can never be wrong. His view is the only sensible view. He gets angry and he's very stubborn. He's not all that educated or experienced but it doesn't matter. I tend to avoid really talking to these kind of people because it's a no win situation. He mumbles when he talks and interrupts conversations and if you don't hear him then he thinks that you are being rude. It can't be that you were engaged in another conversation or couldn't hear him because he was mumbling at a low volume. No. I sat next to him and this is what it was like. I would try to point it out and he would get all huffy with me. I wasn't trying to be rude. I was trying to say, hey, they aren't ignoring you. They didn't hear you. I hear you because I'm right next to you. He's not that old but he acts ancient.

  4. I like liberals, since I am.

Almost all the republicans who hate liberals cite people WHO ARE NOT LIBERAL

  5. I pity them because they are so naive and get brainwashed very easily.

  6. 1. I am a conservative democrat, who used to be a liberal and when liberals started blaming everything on Bush (like Katrina) and when they started hoping for loss in Iraq and comparing Bush to Hitler I became a conservative

    2. One of events was the Israeli-Lebanon war that exposed liberal anti-semitism. Another reason was that I was pissed that they were "hoping" for a loss in Iraq.

    3. I dislike them, because they dislike me :). Liberals hate conservative values, the have this blind hate of conservatives and they have little understanding how capitalist economy works.

    4. No, there are some good liberals. I just dislike the far-left liberals.

    5. My cousin is a liberals and he is a nice dude, it's just that he has little understanding of how politics really work.

    6. I have liberal friends, so yeah I can be friends with liberals.

  7. The term "liberal" has been given a meaning by the media and public education that label certain beliefs. It is simply meant to divide us. Actually, what most people consider "conservative" was once known as "liberal" (sometimes referred to as "classical liberal"- Frederic Bastiat is a good example)

Here is a good summary by G. Edward Griffin:

There are many words commonly used today to describe political attitudes. We are  told that there are conservatives, liberals, libertarians, progressives, right-wingers, leftwingers, socialists, communists, Trotskyites, Maoists, Fascists, n***s; and if that isn’t  confusing enough, now we have neo conservatives, neo n***s, and neo everything else.  When we are asked what our political orientation is, we are expected to choose from one of  these words. If we don’t have a strong political opinion or if we’re afraid of making a bad  choice, then we play it safe and say we are moderates – adding yet one more word to the  list.   Social mores and religious beliefs sometimes divide along the Left-Right political  axis. In the United States, the Democrat Party is home for the Left, while the Republican  Party is home for the Right. Those on the Left are more likely to embrace life styles that  those on the Right would consider improper or even sinful. Those on the Right are more  likely to be church-going members of an organized religion. But these are not definitive  values, because there is a great deal of overlap. Republicans smoke pot. Democrats go to  church. Social or religious values cannot be included in any meaningful definition of these  groups.   Not one person in a thousand can clearly define the ideology that any of these words  represent. They are used, primarily, as labels to impart an aura of either goodness or  badness, depending on who uses the words and what emotions they trigger in their minds.  Most political debates sound like they originate at the tower of Babel. Everyone is speaking  a different language. The words may sound familiar, but speakers and listeners each have  their own private definitions.

It has been my experience that, once the definitions are commonly understood, most  of the disagreements come to an end. To the amazement of those who thought they were  bitter ideological opponents, they often find they are actually in basic agreement. So, to deal  with this word, collectivism, our first order of business is to throw out the garbage. If we are  to make sense of the political agendas that dominate our planet today, we must not allow our  thinking to be contaminated by the emotional load of the old vocabulary  It may surprise you to learn that most of the great political debates of our time – at  least in the Western world – can be divided into just two viewpoints. All of the rest is fluff.  Typically, they focus on whether or not a particular action should be taken; but the real  conflict is not about the merits of the action; it is about the principles, the ethical code that  justifies or forbids that action. It is a contest between the ethics of collectivism on the one  hand and individualism on the other. Those are words that have meaning, and they describe  a philosophical chasm that divides the entire Western world."

  8. I don't dislike them, I just disagree with them nearly 100%.

  9. Liberals are people that expect the government to provide for them most of the time.  Pay their taxes and stand in line for whatever. They expect something for nothing.  If that doesn't happen they first whine and then if that doesn't work they protest even to extremes.  Liberals have demonstrated they can't work together even with themselves.  We have a democratic - liberal congress and they play the blame game with the executive branch.

Republican party is holding their convention and the liberals show up with violent demos.  The convention attendees have little to do with what they are protesting and they continue to show their colors on the street with violence.  They should be held accountable for the disruption and dollar cost of what they are doing.

What is there to like about what liberals do and what they want?

  10. At an individual level.. liberals are ok.  Simply because at that level they lack any ability to enforce their world views on anybody.  They become a problem at the political level.

I detest liberalism because it's central, core belief is "you are not responsible for yourself."

You want to drop out after 10 years of school.  That's OK, society will take care of you.

You want to have 6 kids when you can't afford 1, not only is that OK.. we'll reward you for it.

You want to murder somebody, that's OK.. it's not your fault.  You had a bad childhood or you were overcome by "mob mentality."

I think the "event" that sealed it for me was when my POS cousin had her third kid at age 18 and the state gave her a free apartment, a free car, free food, free school, and a monthly check for each of them.  She's since had 2 more and has never had a job.. and the checks have kept coming in.  And she brags about it..

Another "event" was during the LA riots watching a mob rip a trucker out of his truck and beat him senseless.. then finding out later than they got off because they were, as mentioned above, overcome with "mob mentality."

  11. I do not dislike any liberals on a personal basis (though there are certainly a few on this post that push the limits), I only disagree with their overall ideology.

  12. They seem to vote against America and for terrorists.

  13. I don't dislike liberals.  I abhor liberal policies though..

  14. I have many liberal friends...(was one) I have a issue with the Far left that took over the party and ran away from the middle.... just look now Obama can't even rule in the out of control Moveon.org/Daily Kos and whack jobs now since the Palin announcment...

  15. You can be friends with people of differing opinions.  Just don't talk about it. lol

  16. I have seen how democrats have abused the welfare system, get a d**n job you scumbags.

I have seen there idiotic plans or ideas such as oh just inflate your tires with high gas prices.

They are biases such as blaming republicans for being racist but yet put robert byrd in the senate who was a kkk member.

  17. I don't hate people based on their ideology. I love some liberals, my mom was a liberal feminist until last year. I didn't agree with her and didn't like her sometimes (especially as a teenager), but I never hated her.

Most of the liberals I know are women and tend to make decisions based on emotions instead of logic. I am a very logical person and I have always been conservative. Most of the issues liberals support are self centered ones and they tend to use emotion to try to sway public opinion.
