  1. You do AS in year 12 and A2 in year 13.

Together they make "A-Levels", you get the results of these in the end of year 13. The second Thursday of August actually.

You can start preparing for uni in year 12.

Towards the end you need to start getting prospectuses and going to open days (if you're early.. there's more in September- November-ish)

Things like attending UCAS fairs and writing your personal statement.

But your school/college will advice you on that.

I for example though wasn't even sure about what I'm going to do at uni til Thursday when I got my AS results...

  2. you start the A level course in year 12 but its a 2 year course

ive just finished my AS levels (yr 12) and am going into year 13 to do my AS levels. together they make up your A level

and it depends really. ive only just decided what i want to do at uni. some of my friends decided last year and some are yet to deside.

but at my school we get information in year 12 about uni's etc and are encouraged to do our own research into it. and then in year 13 we work with "ucas" to do all the applying and stuff :)

    hope this helps

    ps.

    www.ucas.com

if your wondering what it is :)
