I do all of my banking online. I only use credit. The only time I use cash is at bars and I only write one check a month to pay rent. Everything else online/credit.

I do all banking on line and have done so since it was offered by each entity I had a relationship if it was offered. I find the USPS and their unions have lost their way! The only thing they can do efficiently anymore is deliver bills and advertisements and they do that rather slowly. We get our mail after 5 PM and all it is is junk mail.

If you go to any bank and go to their  site you find HTTPS in the address this means they are at a security level above the average traffic. Also, look for the little lock on the page, generally in lower right hand corner.The encryption is usually ssl and is about as secure as you can get to date. (128Bit encryption) I have had no problems in the 4-5 years I have used it. The best thing to do is stay with the Major Banks and if you purchase anything on line check for the Verisign usage.........

As long as you protect your password and user-name you'll do just find. A little paranoia is probably a good thing.

as long as it's your bank....you're good. as for paying bills checks vs. online..it is way safer and faster and cheaper. think about it. writing a check can be stolen or lost in the mail which has your account and routing number, your name, usually your address, and the most important your signature...then you have to wait and wait for it to be debited from your account. if you do it online, the company receiving your payment, just get your name and verified funds...no mail waiting, no sensitive info....and you have a confirmation number from your bank when you make the payment...it's way better, give it a try!

Yes, I use banking online.  I have used it for about 2 years now and never had a problem.  I was really concerned when I first started.  I make sure I clear my Temp. Files before and after I use my banking site.
