  1. I don't eat meat, so I actually dread going to other people's houses for dinner!

I have learned to do two things, eat some snacks beforehand and keep some in the car for after, if the meal is THAT horrible.  And, to smile and enjoy spending time with friends, even with a large slab of meat staring at me.

Always remember too - wine is vegetarian!  : )

  2. Not at all.  My vegetarian friends usually make some sort of pasta dish with cheese and I'm Italian so that works for me!

If I have vegetarians over, a taco bar is a great idea.  You make the meat seperate from the rest of the veggies and toppings.  That way people can just put what they want on them.

Last night I made pasta with spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms.  You can always make chicken on the side for the people that want it.

  3. going there is not so bad. you dont need to eat meat everyday but cooking for them is another story cause they tend to be so picky!

  4. Wow, you are such a good friend and all.

I had a housewarming and ordered meat dishes.  I just made sure there were no leftovers.  And if they are vegetarian instead of vegan, maybe a nice fish dish will be offered.

It won't kill you to eat super healthy once in a while though.  I go to Sunday family dinner each week and starve politely while they eat the same boring stuff all the time (steak/roast/whatever with potatoes in winter/corn in summer and salad.  EVERY WEEK.)

  5. It would only be dreadful if you are close minded and your life revolves around meat.  There are thousands of great vegetarian meals.  Meat is not the only food in the world.

  6. no ... we eat 1 or 2 meals a week without meat anyways.  I can always come up with enough side dishes that don't include meat for them at my house too
