Do you dream in color? How does this happen since some people don't.?

I dream in color usually and the dreams feel much like real life. I understand that not everyone does this and I wonder what makes the difference..

I see colors that I cannot perceive when awake, it's hard to explain them because they don't exist outside the mind

I dream in color as well. Sometimes the colors are so vibrant that it just takes my breath away. The baby blues of the sky, the twinkling blues of the crystal clear ocean, the lush greens of the grass, and the exhilarating colors of the objects around me sometimes seems as though I've  almost died and had gone to my own personal utopia. The dramatic colors often make my dreams seem so real that I sometimes don't even realize that I am still dreaming. It's pretty amazing!

yes i dream in colors and i guess it depends on the situation ur in .. the brain "directs" the colors, and i dont rele think that some ppl have never actually dreamed of colorful dreams, but that's pretty interesting!

heheh, I always dream in colour, I guess it depends how advanced the R.E.M. state is, most people have their most vivid dreams just before waking, i've known dreams w washed out colour but never no colour at all

You can dream in color.  You can dream in black and white.  You can dream in monochrome.  It depends on what your busy little brain is working on while your consious is out of its way.  I have had all three.  It appears to me that my color dreams are social problems I'm working out.  Black and white is issues of concern with society in general, usually, and mono chrome seems to be when I have been ignoring a problem and my brain wants me to pay attention.  Or it sends my dream guide to talk to me in a dream.

i definitely dream in color, and i thought that everyone did.  some people just thought that they didn't because for a while everyone was saying that it was impossible to dream in color (and to be able to read, too).

i dont much have dreams, i have nightmares, but they are for the most part in color. sometime i cant really tell the color because it is dark and i cant really see much, but i dont believe i ever dreamt in black and white.

hey, if anyone on here is schooled in the area of dreams/nightmares,email me, cause i have got *?'s*. i just dont want to put them on here because alot of people dont take these things seriously and make fun of me (call me psycho or say im looking for attention). not true. im looking for answers! hence, yahoo answers! not yahoo attention!
