I'm meeting him for the first time to have my transcripts evaluated so that I can transfer into the school.

  1. It's not required, but it couldn't hurt in making a good first impression....Dress shirt, pants and nice shoes would be appropriate.  I dress up for most things academic-related.

  2. I have always worn normal clothes.  I never dressed up to meet a professor when I was in college, and I have never done it in graduate school, either.

Unless your school has a specific policy about this, I would just wear everyday clothes.

  3. I usually wear what I wear everyday...there are always other people at his or her office hours so I feel like it is kind of casual

  4. It depends on what you usually wear every day....and why you are meeting this professor. if it is for a job, then a sports jacket, with a shirt and tie.Black jeans would work if the did not look worn out.

  5. I don't dress up.  Blue jeans and a decent shirt is all you need.  Of course, you don't want to look or smell like you just rolled out of bed, but that goes every time you walk out your door.

  6. It depends on what you are going there for.  If you are going for a "professional interview" then you should dress appropriately.  If you are going in to discuss a grade, or a paper or just a "general" discussion then you should dress casual, but with "respect".  Remember, whether people like it or not, people do judge us by our appearance.

    Peace & Love  :)

  7. You should wear what you normally wear unless you are being interviewed for something, which is probably not the case.
