do you drive around in a car that needs a tune-up...(assuming you drive a car made before 1985 that you can actually "tune-up", newer cars have electronic ignitions and injectors so they can't be "tuned up")...now is Obama saying that if EVERY car on the road(regardless that not many people drive with flat tires, but is assuming we all are) was driving on flat tires and fouled spark plugs, and we all fixed those flats and tuned up all the cars, we would get the same amount of gasoline from those savings as we would from drilling here? but who drives with half flat tires? how many people drive old chevy impala's that could even BE tuned up? is anyone buying into this rot gut?

  1. I deflate my tires regularly ... so that I can waste gasoline doing things that are enjoyable to me, not that it should be a consideration. But if I didn't deflate my tires when my gas guzzling, high performance vehicle was to entertain me, and diminish my competition, I wouldn't be worthy of doing the dunes. lol. They can make it as expensive as they want, liberals that they are, and yet true Americans will violate every attempt that they make to subdue our freedoms, much to their chagrin. Life sucks for liberals who don't have friends that they can ride with when actually experiencing life.

  2. And people wonder why I laugh at Obama...

  3.   A little correction here, when you say the newer cars cannot be tuned up, that is not entirely true.

Today, we cannot change points, condenser, rotor ect. but our tune up today can help with mileage, by changing spark plugs, cleaning or replacing injectors and replacing worn spark plug wires.

These items are considered to be a tune up in today's world, and very expensive to boot.

Obama, like all lying politicians, will say most anything to get elected, and then forget he ever said anything of the sort, or claimed he was misunderstood.

As far as running on underinflated tires, I do this all of the time, to get the smoothest ride posssible.  By about 2 to 3psi.

  4. No, actually, I don't. It's part of my "Saturday morning routine" and I stop to gas up, check my oil,  and check my tires at the place where I get my coffee on my way out to start my weekend errands.

And the fact that you laugh at this only exposes your ignorance.

I have a good friend who is a Class A mechanic - a GREAT guy and an honest chap. He tells me really amusing stories about the people and their cars when they come in.

THEY ALWAYS HAVE LOW AIR PRESSURE. The first time I ever went to him - maybe five or six years ago - my air pressure was TWELVE. That's right. TWELVE. And I'm a conscientious kind of person - but also harried and busy and pre-occupied like every other American today.

    You're fooling only yourself.

As a matter of fact - the more I think about it - I really must say that after giving it some thought, I cannot come up with ONE person that I know personally who maintains their vehicle like they should. And that of course includes regularly checking the air in the tires.

Oh, please. You're talking about a culture that goes through WITHDRAWAL if they lose the remote control to the television for God's sake.

WHAT????? I HAVE TO GET UP OFF THE COUCH TO CHANGE THE CHANNEL?????

    AAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!

uh.....NO. The average American most certainly does NOT check the air in their tires.

    Nope.
