If you're a movie extra and you work for Talent 6, is it true you earn that amount of money each year? I went on yahoo and clicked on HotJobs, then i typed in movie extra. I clicked on one of the locations and it said you get paid $250/day and 95,000 a year. Is this true? Please help. Thank You

  1. Hardly.....

The union scale for movie extras is $75 a day.  Even at $250 a day you would have to work every day, every week to earn that much.

Most extras are lucky to work a few weeks a year if that, and those are the popular background ones that are in a ton a movies.

There are many celeberty actors that do tv movies and such that don't make $90,000 a year.  I know of one celeberty who has had 4 series on tv and recently did a part for a movie that had a total buget of $60,000.  If the total budget for the movie is that low, it's a cinch that they arent being paid more than $10,000 and that was for a major part.

Sure, the big names like Will Smith are getting a lot, but extras are basicly the bottom of the barrel.  Most extras for movies are hired on location because they usually don't have speaking parts (or maybe just a line or 2, like a waitress taking an order) and the movie doesnt have to pay travel or lodging expenses for an extra.

The job you looked at is probably some type of school or scam that is promising you to earn that much and will charge you money for the info.

  2. Search Yahoo Answers for "Talent 6". Somebody earlier today was complaining about how they'd been scammed by this company.
