I've heard seaweed is a good source of minerals so I've just bought some wakame to try.

It took me ages to find some real seaweed and not the cabbage you get from supermarkets. I didn't know there were different varieties, all I've ever heard of is laver as in bread and kelp as in tablets.

Now I'd like some healthy ideas for using seaweed other than the one for a soup that is on the packet.

  2. I've never eaten seaweed, as just seeing it makes me feel sick to my stomach.

  3. You'll be surprised. I ate dried seaweed in scotland with a meal and i couldn't tell! It's a bit salty, but lovely and crunchy. If anything it's like a big green herb.It may be hard to get hold of-We purchased it from a chinese supermarket. Seaweed is good as a side with light foods & meals. Try with noodles or something similar.

  5. When I was younger I used to buy these sheets of seaweed and just use them to munch on.  They were really crispy and had a mild flavor.  You could probaly stuff them with some white rice, with a little salt and have a little snack.
