  1. everyone i've spoken to who has done this said it tasted yuck.

so we will be eating the same KIND of cake on our anniversary, but not the same piece. the tradition behind it is sweet, but i'm not eating old cake!

  2. You are supposed to eat it on your 1 year anniversary and yes is tastes gross, but it is tradition.

  3. This is a very old tradition, from back when most wedding cakes were made of boiled fruit cakes (which freeze and defrost very well, even after a year) Nowadays cakes are made of much more fragile substances, and don't defrost well at ALL.  My advice?  Eat your cake on your wedding day, it'll taste like trash if you wait even a month.  If you want to do something nice on your one year, take a picture of your cake to a baker and have them replicate the top layer, then eat the freshly made twin cake on your one year anniversary.

  4. I heard it is on your 1 year Anniversary but I heard people say the cake tasted Nasty after it un froze!

  5. on your one year anniversary

  6. Traditionally on your one year anniversary. My fiance and I are going to do something different though. We are going to eat our wedding cake on our honeymoon!

  7. My boss and her husband ate it on their one year anneversiary.

They said it still tasted good too because it was pound cake.

  8. You eat it on your 1 year anniversary.

Today was our 1 month and I wanted to thaw it out and eat it cause it was so tasty.  Hope it still tastes good after one year lol.

  9. Your one year, or birth of your first born, or both if you have enough left. Just an FYI, we just celebrated our first anniversary, and believe it or not still tasted freaking awesome. Here is why my MOH, and our Best Man, took the cake home, froze it first, only one day and then vacuumed it sealed. If you just vacuumed sealed it, it would be flat like a pancake, this way your not taking the air out, which is really mostly what a cake is made up of. So if you follow that it will be great for years to come. She froze our top layer, (I was over zealous and bought to much) ( better than running out I guess) and so we are eating it when our first child is born as well. One more thing, really cute idea, just to put it out there. You can offer a Groom's cake, it choc. for those people who do not want white, and can be made like a football or whatever your fiance is into, and the girls at your wedding who are un-wed would take the cake home and sleep with it under their bed and have dreams of their future husband, as legend has it, anyway just trying to give ideas. GOOD LUCK
