The free gifts they give you.

And have you ever got anything useful?

All the women`s magazines, seem to offer more beach bags than anything else.

Marie Claire has just given me a pair of flip flops, which as i only do heels, is unlikely to prove useful.

Your thoughts please. :)

  1. ooooo...Gardner's World gave away free lettuce seeds the other month, how useful is that?

    ****tumbleweed***

I suspect you don't mean those type of magazines or those type of gifts.....

EDIT- Jo I so agree...cabbage magazines are strictly top shelf ;-)

  2. Early days?

    Sure.

    Nowadays no.

    Newspapers ?

Go to friend's place and borrow.

Or read in the coffee shop.

    Only when travelling.

    With free time.

    Looking around for cheap sale.

Just bought 8  copies of hard cover books.

Those jokers clear out at cut rates.

    That was a good buy.

With those bunch of educated idiots.

    Who never like to read.

    Had passed by it earlier.

    Too expensive.

    Dare not pick it up.

Pick it up will read it whenever one is free.

    What do you think?

  3. No just to read them.

  4. A few years ago I actually got some really good flipflops, can't remember the magazine though.

And when I was 13 I got a free vest top with Bliss magazine, it wasn;t particularly well made but I still wear it under jumpers and stuff now, 8 years later!

  5. Well, I would be more likely to buy a magazine that had a free gift, but it would need to have good stuff to read too. I aint paying £4 for a beach bag! lol.

  6. AHA! Yes! Whenever i buy my son a magazine of something he likes i always buy according to the toy on the front.

*Thomas the tank engine and freinds have usually got the best toy AND you get a wicked poster AND stickers usually.

Plus i like reading it as well.

Other favourite toy titles include Cbeebies, In the night garden and fireman sam

  7. I rarely buy magazines, but when I do I look for the freebies.  I've got several very useful bags of one sort and another that I use around the house and keep in my shoulder bag for shopping.  The last one was a flowery bag from 'Easy Living' which I bought when I realised I didn't have a bag for my shopping; it's nice, but I'd rather have had the stripey one!

  8. Rarely. Usually the books are sh*t, the bags too small for the beach and the flip flops for Big Foots...oh and the lip-glosses are tested on animals!

I buy Company magazine now and again, for the read, not the freebies.

  9. i sometimes buy the magazines just for the free gifts. I guess im a bit of a sucker really i have got some great free vegetable seed also i got a free book about growing organic veg from a different mag. I also have got these mags that you can send off for the free gifts such as bracelets  but i never get round to doing it so its a waste of money really.

  11. I once bought Tatler for a pair of sunglasses but other than that, no.

However, I still think magazines are great and that it's really sad that more people are using the internet for their info when let's be honest, there's so much rubbish out there, how do you weed the truth from the c**p?

At least magazines have accountability and integrity.

  12. I used to by magazines, but after a while they all said the same d**n thing, so I just read internet content for latest trends which to this day, seem regurgitated.
