  1. mrkiolbassa,

I could use some clarification on why and how you feel helpless.  If it's about how you might feel you make little difference in the world, don't feel helpless.  Everything and everyone you come in contact with is affected by you - from a stone you move as you step, to brightening someone's day by your smile.

Now, I have days where I need to heed my own advice.  Yep, I feel low and a bit depressed some days too.  Like, what am I doing here?  Does anything I do mean anything?  There is a beautiful quote that I often refer to when I find myself in this state of mind.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. - Unknown"

    And here is another:

"Many believe that self-help and self-improvement is about rags to riches, failure to success, and so forth, when indeed it is the beginning of a journey into self-discovery. Inside every human being is an eternal truth and a life purpose. Using our mind power is simply starting the engine on that journey of self-discovery and highest self-actualization. - Eldon Taylor, author of "Choices and Illusions" "

Accomplish something today, if only to make your surroundings feel clean and comfortable to be in.

Just take the next step on your path, even if it is just to sit and meditate on where you are and where you'd like to be.  Just don't sit for too long.  Actions speak much louder than thoughts.

Placing you in a better place and space can only benefit anyone who enters that space.  Then you have certainly not been helpless at all, but quite helpful.

  2. There are a lot of things that you would like to do and can't. Part of growing up is to realize this and concentrate on the things that you CAN do to make the world a better place.

  3. The world is a big place. It's hard to feel like one little person can make much of a difference. But think about all of the people around you whose lives are better because of you.
