Today at maybe 4 after everyone came in from the pool it just broke into chaos. Nobody was misbehaving or anything, but 1 was reading a book outloud, another was listen to blasting music, 2 were whinning and having trouble sharing there toys, and the little one was crying. I could barely think and had everyone go have quiet time in there room. Then I got back together and called everyone in and explained why I had to do that. Then they continued with the night. Is this bad to do? Do you ever do this?

  1. You're fine! On days like that , I tell my girls that I need a minute and it's best to go to their room and chill for a bit. They know. Hard playing days at the pool all day and all the aftermath is trying. When we do something like that for the whole day (zoo/pool/museum etc) it gets tiring and crazy sometimes. Usually we come home and it's an unspoken rule that I need 20 minutes of quiet. The singing along with the ipod and my youngest daughter belting made up song tunes as loud as possible to drown out my oldest, after a long day in the sun of whatever. It's enough to make anyone lose it.

Never EVER feel guilty for needing some silence for a bit.

We respect our kids when they need to wind down, right?

If we don't get the same treatment- we will all have a breakdown.

  2. I do it with my kids, theres nothing to worry about..

Sometimes mummy just needs it to be quit for a while...

Just explain the the noise level is a lil to high and they need to tone it down so they need to have quiet time in there rooms....

There is nothing wrong with wanting the noise level to drop a little
