I've been feeling that way lately. I feel lucky to have been born, but I feel like I'm just wasting away my life on stupid things. Anyone else feel that way?

  1. Yes. That`s exactly how i`ve been feeling. What is the point of me being here? Is there a purpose to my life? All I seem to do is work to pay bill`s and make the home comfortable.

I have just had a nasty experiance and after being discharged from hospital  it`s made me question life and look around at others. There must be more to life than the treadmill, year in year out. Im off work for another six month`s and that`s plenty of time to think "what`s next" Yes, I am lucky but not so many people like us get the chance to review and change their live`s. good luck my friend.

  2. yes i feel very good to be alive, i have been dead ever sense i was born, so i dont think anyone is wasting there time, how can you waste your life? if you help people thats not stupid.

  3. Nope, I'm playing the hand I was dealt.  Just trying to keep the other guy from guessing whether I'm bluffing or not.

  4. I feel like i SHOULD feel lucky and appreciative to be alive but I'm not because I'm miserable o_o so I guess that sort of applies?

  5. Lately yes, had my house robbed a while back and feel quite violated, so I don't buy any of the "stupid thing's" anymore.

For me, material goods have really lost their value.

This new thinking has kind of exposed the waste in my life even more.

    Sometimes I wonder who's really happier/luckier though.

-the guy and his extended family with nothing but a goatherd and  a hut in say Angola, or me helping to carry on all the BS in this western style life

  6. Well, we came into this world with nothing and we'll leave with nothing; every material thing we acquire will be lost sooner or later, so we know that path is futile. But great souls and famous thinkers assert that there is a worthwhile purpose to life.

"When I read the Bhagavad-Gita and reflect about how God created this universe everything else seems so superfluous." Albert Einstein.

"When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to Bhagavad-gita and find a verse to comfort me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow. Those who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day." Mahatma Gandhi.

"I owed a magnificent day to the Bhagavad-gita. It was the first of books; it was as if an empire spoke to us, nothing small or unworthy, but large, serene, consistent, the voice of an old intelligence which in another age and climate had pondered and thus disposed of the same questions which exercise us." Ralph Waldo Emerson

"In the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonal philosophy of the Bhagavad-gita, in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seem puny and trivial." Henry David Thoreau.

"The Bhagavad-Gita is the most systematic statement of spiritual evolution of endowing value to mankind. It is one of the most clear and comprehensive summaries of perennial philosophy ever revealed; hence its enduring value is subject not only to India but to all of humanity." Aldous Huxley.

'Srimad Bhagavad Gita As It Is' by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is not just a book. It is a very wise, loving, caring, constant friend and It will change the life from being stupid to stupendous: ' " This knowledge is the king of education, the most secret of all secrets. It is the purest knowledge, and because it gives direct perception of the self by realization, it is the perfection of religion. It is everlasting, and it is joyfully performed." Chapter 9, Verse 2.

    All the best. :-)

  7. That's when I ask myself, "what next?"

Then I move on.  It's no good dwelling on the issue.

  8. Yeah I feel that way alot but I always remember I have it alot better than most people in the world. So whenever you feel like a loser or that you could be much better just count your blessings because somebody is starving to death halfway around the world!
