Every year when I finish school I feel like I learned nothing... maybe just because I hate school, but I go to the next year, and feel like I am learning it all over again and it takes forever cause I feel like I am a f'in idiot sometimes, and I just don't know what to do, I feel like I have no purpose in life sometimes... going into the 11th grade, and feel like I am stupid as s**t and all I am good for is sneaking out and pulling pranks

  1. Oh my gosh i feel exactly the same way! i don't really hate school, well actually i do!  But i always feel like i didn't get anything out of it.  And i never feel like i learned anything and i just keep learning the sme old stuff over and over again

  2. ohhhh yeah...8th grade

  3. How come you're not learning what you'd like to learn? Are you doing an online program? What's going on?

Everybody is designed to enjoy learning. Maybe not what you're being forced to learn, but to enjoy learning. It's time to talk to your parents about a change. Have you ever read The Teenage Liberation Handbook? Read it. Take some time to explore interests--it's connecting with something that gives us a sense of, "Yeah, I think I'd like to do this is an adult." Ask your parents for the freedom to figure out things for a while. Get out and do stuff. Take out as many library books as you can on a variety of subjects. LIVE.

  6. Honey, I've got a master's degree and I'm now a grandmother.  And some days .....  Yeah!  I feel like I haven't learned a thing my whole life.

And then I come back to YA and collect four or five more "Best Answers" and I feel validated again.....

  7. Keep on keepin on..... and putting down the bong might help.

  8. Well if you're getting A's and passing and still feel this way, I say homeschool. That's what I did, and now I never feel like I'm not learning or like I'm an idiot. I'm ALWAYS learning, and unlike regular school I can and do make it FUN too

  9. Question - are you homeschooled?

If not, then yes, I can completely agree - I had many years of school that ended with my feeling like I didn't learn a thing.  In school, you are required to be taught a certain group of information, and if you don't have a good teacher, tough luck.  Those lucky enough to have a great teacher are lucky indeed.

If you are homeschooled though, then you have the ability to change things up.  Maybe you need a new curriculum?  A new schedule?  A new challenge?  Figure out what you'd like to learn about, and then go learn it.  You still have to take the core stuff, but you can take it in a way that actually means something to you.

  10. You haven't found your passion yet. Do you homeschool? Learning for tests can leave you feeling empty but real learning where you start fitting the pieces together can be exciting.

Go to the library and look at the magazines. Check some out that look interesting. Read some books just for fun. You will find your passion if you search for it. Don't give up on yourself. You have somtheing amazng to contribute to the world.

  11. If you realize how much you don't yet understand... then you're alright.

It's those people exiting high school that believe they have a CLUE, that concern me.

  12. Yup and her I go again
