Do you ever feel like you don't understand your friends?

Some of my friends I just don't seem to understand lately. One of my friends thinks cheerleaders are S****y. I've talked to one of the cheerleaders & she's really nice. She's not S****y at all. Another one of my friends thinks they can boss me around because I'm passive. Why boss someone around just because they are passive? Today after school I don't know what was going on but one of my friends said, "s***k," and one of my other friends thought the same thing. I didn't know what was going on so I asked them what was going on. She was talking about this girl kissing a black guy. I told one of my friends, "How can you call her one if you don't know her?"

How is kissing someone in public or being a cheerleader S****y?

  1. I also have two friends who say things like that to people they don't even know. And it's rude.

It's good that you understand that it's wrong and you appreciate that there is more to what's on the surface of people.

It could be that they are jealous? This is a long shot but maybe they sort wish they could be a cheerleader?

It could also have to do with media and all that c**p you know? Many movies depict the cheerleader to be the one who's always got a boyfriend and never the virgin kind of thing, and its stupid, because its not even close to reality.

I agree with you, so if it's bugging you the way they treat others stick to your guns and don't join in. I understand that it can sort of make you feel awkward when your with them because people might think you have the same views.

If it's really bugging you mention it to your friends like you did. something like, "You don't even know her though? she could be a really nice person and your calling her a s***k." It isn't harsh but it might open their minds to what your feeling about the situation?

I'll admit I've tried voicing it but sometimes they are just who they are, and are stubborn and you can't do anything, so I've had to resort to taking a deep breath and ignoring it!

    Hope that sort of helps?

  2. You make a good point. How can kissing someone  black make you a s***k? i take that offensive. But your right if you know know someone you have to right to judge them. And they might be jealous of them

  3. they are just stereotyping. Sometimes ppl can just do that unconsciously, which i doubt they were. They could just not like cheerleading for some reason..which is probably a stereotype.

  4. sometimes. it all depends on where it's happening. and personally i don't like most cheerleaders anyways.
