I did my second Ju-Jitsu class today and I was partnered with a very experienced student

I left class very disheartened and not sure if I should sign up.

I really want to do it but I am 6'7" and 48 years old and feel like a klutz

Tell me to keep going

Lordy this question will be deleted for chatting but I don't care

I feel lonely and dispirited

  2. To you the poster...

Do not feel disheartened, you are a beginner. Even for those of us who have done it for a while will have somebody else who's done it longer and who's better. There will always be that day that you are given the opportunity to be humbled.

I've only studied martial arts for 18 years and there are plenty of people that will outshine me in a few arenas as well as those that will "put me to shame" so to speak in the overall scheme of things. I will never be discouraged because of how I perform. What those few performances do is increase the desire for me to better myself. However, it's not for me to prove to anybody else but for me to prove to myself.

Just keep working at it and eventually you will succeed.

  3. dont feel bad mang...i watch ufc everyday... and that involves alot of jujitsu.. but when i start practicing with my brother its like i dont know anything!

dont give up mang youll regret it!

  4. I've been training BJJ for 6years now. I remember when I started, I couldn't do anything. Just keep doing it and don't get discouraged. A lot of things are opposite of your natural reaction.
