Do you ever get depressed for no reason?

some days although not very often i get depressed for no reason do you think thats odd, most days im happy an care free but sum times i just feel realy low. anybody else get this or am i just a tad odd?

  1. Depression is an illnes. You feel depressed for no reason when you have it. I get it at times. If you are worried about it go and see your gp.

    They can't keep up the happy happy 24/7, their body tells them when to slow down and re-energise.

    Our body is like that of a car, and we need to feed >petrol, oil and water< our selves correctly to function at our best, and like a car we need a service every now and then, this comes in the form of a treat to our selves, like sweets, food, drink, a prezy to yourself or a loved one or going out and letting your hair down.

    Search your memory banks for what in your past made you smile or happy and feed from that, it may be a time in your life to try new things or do something you always wanted to do.

    Have fun but rest so you have the enargy to enjoy the next fun time.  

  3. i use to all the time (i mean all the time ) when i was 12 13 14 15 blah blah but as i went on now not all the time

  4. If you're generally in a good mood and once in a while down, don't worry about it. You may have had a dream that had you wake up with mixed feelings, or woken up to a song or odor that your subconsience associates to a sad event.

    We all get it once in a while, when it happens to me I don't take on anything too heavy or emotionally draining. Go with the flow!

  6. It may be your brains have problems or a sickness that you have not been interested in.

  7. The only days I get depressed is when I don't do something to improve my life in 4 areas:

    Physically (working out)

    Mentally (reading)

    Social

    Spirtually

    sometimes it can be because of the weather, sometimes because were getting out period...

  11. There is such a thing as seasonal affective disorder. Your moods can be affected by seasons, the moon , tides, hormonal changes

  12. Have a look at a list of symptoms of depression, they can include all kinds of things like insomnia, poor appetite and things you might not realise are linked.

    If you have any you should go to the doctors, you might need some pills

  13. Yeah i feel low sometimes like today. Everyone's been really nice to me, but i just don't appreciate and just scream at them instead.

  14. Oh yes! Sometimes I just feel down even though I know I've got nothing too feel bad about!! When you feel like this, just cheer yourself up by doing what you love the most. Personally, I listen to music, watch TV or meet with my mates. But it's up to you!

  15. Yes I do...it's not uncommon and is likely due to a temporary chemical imbalance in our brains. Just as clinically depressed people are put on meds to alleviate the depression, so it's quite possible for anyone to have an excess of 'sad' or 'happy' chemicals in our brain on occasion...like our body dumped too much of 'em at one time.

    It doesn't tend to last very long (at least not for me..maybe minutes to a few hours) but often comes on suddenly, as if someone flipped a light switch.

    It's nothing to be concerned about unless it happens frequently and the depression is severe (more than just feeling a little blah or blue).
