  1. You need to learn how to write songs first.

  2. yeah. particularly after i listen to a song i like, and then become motivated to write a song. the only problem is that the song i write ends up sounding just like teh song i like.

i usually write about stuff happening in my life. one thing that really helps me with writer's block is just singing and playing my guitar at teh same time. i usually get the framework for an okay song after doing that. thanks.

  3. do you mean like, there are songs out there that have the same concept as the song you're writing?

    if so, yessssss.

music is so cliched these days. songs always seem to be about love, and heartbreak, and distant lovers, and etc.

so really, nothing can be considered "original" anymore.

but if it has a good beat, i guess that can set it apart from the rest.....

  4. When that happenes to me i take a piece of music that has been done before and do variations on it, like changing the rhythm or adding a instrument to do a descant.
