Do you ever get excited about Hurricane Season?

Question

I mean, obviously, the flooded houses and destruction is upsetting, but don't you think the actual hurricanes are just plain awesome to witness?

My mom thinks I'm crazy, but I think it's an adrenaline rush. After Hurricane Katrina, we had two months of no electricity, and I still thought it was fun to see the winds and rain.

Maybe I'm a wacko, but I'm totally ready for hurricane season. :)

I am ready for hurricane season as well.  Just b/c you love hurricanes or tornadoes doesn't make you a bad or evil person.  For example, I love tornadoes but that does mean I love the destruction or death that they cause.

Nah, doesn't really matter much for me. I'm only affected by the clouds that come..nothing else.

I'm not sure about hurricanes, but I live in Texas.. right in the middle of tornado alley.. which SUCKS but then again, when spring/summer come.. I get so excited about it all! I couldn't even begin to tell you why. Everyone thinks i'm crazy because if 'severe weather' is in talks, no matter what kind of day i'm having, I get such a rush. I wanted to be a storm chaser when I was a kid because I loved it so much, but then again.. if there IS a tornado in my area, and things start getting too out of hand.. I panic like nobody's business! It's just exciting. I've been down to the coast many times when hurricanes were brewing and it was pretty scary.. but i'm sure if I lived in an area where they were common I would feel the same way you do.. and the same way I feel about tornadoes in my area! :)

i hate the tornados and the flooding but I love the winds and lightning and rain. we are in Lake City FL. go to weather.com and type in lake City FL in the zip area and look at were we are at
