With words.... either on YouTube. If you post a video of yourself and people start saying, "you're an ugly fat ****" or in a chatroom and someone starts bashing you! OR HERE EVEN :P

If someone makes a hurtful comment at your question.

Whether these people are just kids mucking about or being serious.... do you ever deep down feel hurt by it?

If so... why???

I could just easily myself, type something nasty here. It's too easy. But i admit i get hurt if someone says (or types rather) something rude.

  1. It's human nature to get offended.  People can be cruel, but don't let it get you down.

  2. No, not really lol.

  3. yes and no

  4. No!  Nothing on the internet is real

  5. No i am thick skinned.Sticks and stones can break my bones but,Words will never hurt me.

  6. no i am a warrior

  7. no, I find it amusing. Usually the people calling names are just immature little s***s with nothing better to do with their time than to make themselves feel superior. This kind of behavior has always amused me. There will always be people out there who don't like you... the only thing you can do is laugh at them.

  8. sometimes but they are usualy posted by someone who didn't think about the question and so attacked me, but i will never see then and i am true to myself.

  9. i would never post a video of myself on You Tube.

Some people just think they are being funny, but insults are immature - ignore them.

  10. Yes I do because I'm a very insecure person and pretty much hate everything about myself so when someone says something negative about me I think "They're right" and it upsets me. I know that's stupid but I can't help it, I've been picked on all my life and I've reached the point where I've just stopped fighting back and have started to accept what is said to me.

  11. Depends on my mood.  Yes, sometimes a comment has hurt my feelings. Other time, I don't get mad....I just get sassy and creative.

Example: I am a singer/songwriter and also a somewhat "vocal" and enthusiastic fan of the rock singer Rick Springfield.  Well, this past winter, I made a funny New Years Greetings video for the fans/friends at the message boards I frequent.  It was all done in the spirit of the holidays and meant to be very "fannish" tongue in cheek i.e. meant to be humorous, not taken seriously in any way, shape or form. I had left the video open for comments...and while most of the people liked it,  someone apparently didn't get it or see the humor in the video, and it was clear they didn't approve... so they sent me the following meanspirited message "You are an f****** psycho! Like I needed to see a FAT woman dancing to a f****** record!"

My initial reaction was WTF? I'm not hurting anyone here, so why did this person feel the need to skewer me like that? I realize that getting haters is part of the game when you are a performer (either amateur, Pro-Am, or professional) but I wasn't about to let that jerk intimidate me off youtube or anywhere else on line simply because they felt like it!

So, I decided to "respond" in this way:

I made a new video and posted it. On the first slide, I wrote what the person said, and then on the next slide said "how do you respond to a complete stranger who insults and makes sizist coments to someone whom they don't even know?" The slide after that read "sure you needed it, honey, and here's some MORE dancing..IN YO' FACE!"  Then the next 2-3 minutes of video were of me dancing to a surf song...in my SWIMSUIT! lol.  I shimmied and hippy hippy shook and did The Batman, the Monkey, let out my inner "go go girl" with all those crazy 60s era dances and got just as silly as I wanted to be...and also added a lot of crazy effects to it.  At the end I put the final slide...making videos that annoy my detractors is the BEST revenge lmao.  Kept the video up at youtube for several weeks and the hits were getting into the thousands, too...but then I found out why...for some reason it got linked into the plus size "soft core" stuff...so I yanked it when I saw that. YUCK! No thanks.

Anyway, I recently made a new video with an original acoustic blues-rock song I wrote called "Skinny Minnie U don't know me" hee hee...basically does the same thing the other vid does...except I've learned not to leave any videos open for comments hahaha. Sure, I still get criticism as well as compliments but oh well...

  12. Yes I do sometimes.  I'm an emotional wreck at times depending on my mood swings lol  I think sometimes the worst insults are easy to deflect.  It's the little things.

I used to go in a chat room on AOL and that was awful at times.  Even though I was fond of people I left in the end because you see people suffer and it isn't very nice.

  13. yes, I do get offended, even if it is a complete stranger and they don't know me or know what I look like. Of course, I wouldn't post a video of myself on u-tube anyway -- I would just be asking for comments that may be hurtful to me.

  14. The only time I was offended was by a girl on face-book I sent her a complement saying nice picture she replied by saying I was rather ugly and would I like A paper bag cheeky B**** its lucky I live in the uk and not near her in Vancouver
