Question:

Do you ever give Best Answer to someone then realize you were wrong?

You know, like you choose best answer, then felt like maybe someone else deserved Best Answer more, after you did weeks of research and found out the other person really was right?

If you think about it, this site comes up on Google search with it's answers. If you choose best answer wrong, then many more people are going to get the wrong answer too when they google it.

It sounds like I'm reading more into than I should, and that I'm taking it way too serious, but really it was just a hind sight, no more than that. Then I got curious and thought I'd ask.

So, does anyone here give best answer then decide later it was wrong, and wish you could change it?

  1. Yahoo should make a feature where you can edit your best answer  -- i mean not to take the person's point away, but just so you don't spread wrong information.  There should be a way for the asker to write comments later on in case they find more information in the future.

  2. YES! This has happened to me numerous times.

It makes me feel bad that I have to choose! =[

  3. You just never know that you are going to find the same answer somewhere else on the net to back up one of the persons answer that you chose wrong.

It is always hard to choose, but at least there are plenty of people on Y!A that never put their questions to vote. With people voting on their own answers, it is almost guaranteed that the ones voting on them will get chosen as best. You never know if their answers even are right.

I sometimes feel guilty about chosing the wrong one as best, but they don't let you go back and change them after you have picked.

I know that you can leave as many comments as you want after you have chosen, but the comments don't always get seen by the public.

I wish they would let us change them later if we have found out they were wrong. That would be cool.

  4. Only on spiritual matters. The views of so many people in religious matters can be so varied one can't be certain whether any answer is right or wrong. That's one of the major obstacles in my questioning anyone's religion or lack thereof OR IS THERE? I've come to realize that religion isn't really a necessary component in being able to express love to our fellow humans ask any atheist I'm sure many of them will agree. When it comes to material matters I do just as much research or draw upon my own knowledge to answer questions. I may have answered incorrectly, but the odds of this having occurred are slim. I also enjoy using the forum for entertainment with riddles or quizzical notions. One of these recently was by trying to dispel all the rumors that I was an extraterrestrial by telling everyone just the opposite, that I WAS an extraterrestrial. Think about it fellow Y!Aers. Why did I change my screen name to Emissary?
